Gentle Dental? More like yell at you in the chair, have malfunctioning equipment dental. I saw a female dentist named Dr. Alemayehu there, not only did I express to them i have extreme anxiety with dentists and require sedation, but I also called before my appointment to make sure their nitrous machine was working, and i was told it was. As they started working on my mouth the nitrous stopped working, they kept "fixing it" but nothing happened. Finally the dentist said "lets just proceed without it. " ARE YOU KIDDING ME, I was also not numbed properly and the dentist had to give me several additional novacane shots. Meanwhile yelling at me to "move my tongue", "stop fighting her" and pulling extremely hard on my jaw. I have never had a problem with any other dentist.

Now despite the fact that my insurance covered my cleaning and x rays, I am paying out of pocket to go to a new dentist who is re doing all the work, because I have no faith in her competency. She went from prepping me for a crown and starting a root canal to deciding to just do a "deep filling. " That is a big change to just make last minute. Weeks after seeing this dentist my mouth hurt, that is not normal. i suspect that she should have done the root canal and because she didn't my tooth wasn't treated properly and that's why it hurts. I have never been so uncomfortable in a dentist chair in my life, I just remember her constantly telling me "I wasn't opening my mouth wide enough' and pulling on my lower jaw and getting frustrated. The office staff is also very flighty, I had to help their office manager at the Landstown location figure out how to print out my own receipt. i do not think they maintain their equipment and I was told their nitrous machine wasn't working then magically when I called to confirm it was the day before my appointment i was told "oh hold on let me check, yeah it's fine.

" I wanted to tell the dentist to stop in the middle of my procedure i could feel the pain from not being numbed properly, but you can't exactly stop in the middle of a dental procedure and just say "let's call the whole thing off. " I would not recommend this dentist to anyone, especially anyone with children. I can't speak for the other dentists there as I only saw Dr. Alemayehu, but I wasn't willing to take the risk and try one of their other dentists, because my experience was so bad. Also, dentists get really close to you, and Dr. Alemayehu had a very bad odor coming off of her every time I saw her, I am not sure if it's a hygiene thing, or really bad perfume but it was very off-putting and unsanitary. This dentist does not have good bed side manner.

Sunny and Dr. Hooper are fantastic! I’ve never had a bad experience. I’m picky about my teeth and Sunny has always taken extra time to make my cleanings perfect. Dr. Hooper is a great personality and takes the time to have a personable conversation. Every person I’ve ever encountered at the office is so nice and accommodating. I highly recommend Gentle Dental!

I did not have a good experience at this dentist. The front staff was fine, very friendly and knowledgeable. However, the dentist I worked with barely looked me in the face the entire appointment, wasn't familiar with the medications I was on, and shushed his dental assistant more than once while I was there. The dental assistant looked stressed and upset the entire time which caused her to make mistakes even though she was trying her best. At the end of the appointment he prescribed me antibiotics and I had to ask about the care plan regarding the cavity that fell out instead of him just telling me.

Not to mention this facility has some WILD financial rules like "any account that is delinquent will be charged a monthly $10 rebilling fee and an interest of 18%" There is also another clause stating interest on patient bills that are sent to collections. I will not be back. I have actually changed my dental policy and am paying more than before to go back to my old dentist.

Stay away from this place. The billing practices are abhorrent. In late 2023, I received surprise bills for services I had completed in 2021. The amounts they were charging me were in excess of what my insurance allowed. I was also charged for seeing a provider on visits where I just went for a cleaning and never even saw a dentist! The office would recommend services and then not tell me ahead of time that my insurance wouldn’t cover them. They did so many x-rays, racking up the bills and I didn’t realize that my insurance only allows them every so often….

no one ever communicated that I would have to pay out of pocket for the things they recommended or told me I needed to have done. There have been several occasions where my family has been notified there is no dentist present, even thought the appointments were scheduled months in advance and there was time to change them should the office have made the effort. There is a high turnover here. You never know what doctor you might see (if you’re lucky enough to see one). Something is off with this whole practice. I was told I had a cavity that needed to be filled.

This was my first cavity in 30 years. I regret not going elsewhere for a second opinion first. My daughter was also told she had a cavity that needed filled. She’s never had any in the past either. When we first started coming here in 2019 things were fine, but I went downhill quickly.
