Detailed Introduction

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (Georgia DDS) is a state government agency responsible for issuing driver's licenses, learner's permits, and state identification cards to residents of Georgia. The Fayetteville location, situated at 749 W Lanier Ave, Fayetteville, GA 30214, operates as a customer service center, providing in-person services to the public. This DDS center is a crucial hub for residents in and around Fayetteville, offering a comprehensive range of driver-related services. These services include, but are not limited to, applying for a new driver's license (Class C, provisional, or learner's permit), renewing existing licenses, replacing lost or stolen licenses or ID cards, and transferring out-of-state licenses to Georgia. They also facilitate various road tests for different vehicle classes (automobile, motorcycle, and commercial driver's licenses - CDL). Beyond licensing, the Fayetteville DDS location assists with other important tasks such as changing addresses or names on existing licenses, paying super speeder fines, and providing Motor Vehicle Reports (MVR). The center often utilizes self-service kiosks for routine transactions like renewals and address changes, aiming to reduce wait times and enhance customer convenience. Operating hours typically include Tuesday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., though it's always advisable to check their official website for the most current information and any potential holiday closures. As a government "clinic" or service center, it is not an individual practice but part of a larger state-wide network dedicated to regulating and administering driver services across Georgia, upholding standards for secure and accurate credentialing.
