Detailed Introduction

Germantown Pediatric Dental Center, LLC, operating under the brand Germantownbigsmiles®, is a dedicated pediatric dental clinic located at 19847 Century Blvd Lobby B, Ste 215, Germantown, MD 20874. With over 25 years of experience, the center specializes in providing comprehensive oral healthcare for infants, children, and adolescents, and has expanded its services to include teenagers up to 18 years old, eliminating the need for them to switch providers as they grow. The clinic is led by experienced pediatric dentists, including Dr. Irma Echandy, who has over 25 years of experience in pediatric dentistry, and Dr. Sheyda Maghsoudi. The team is committed to creating a positive, fun, and comfortable environment for all their young patients, understanding the unique emotional and developmental needs of children. They employ reassuring methods, like the "tell, show, do" technique and child-friendly language ("counting and brushing teeth" instead of "dental cleaning"), to alleviate anxiety. Germantown Pediatric Dental Center offers a wide range of services, including but not limited to: Preventive Dental Care: Regular check-ups, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants to prevent tooth decay. Restorative Dentistry: Fillings and crowns for kids. Emergency Dental Care: Prompt treatment for dental emergencies. Sedation Dentistry: Options such as nitrous oxide (in-office) and general anesthesia (at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital) for anxious children or extensive procedures. Special Needs Dentistry: Specialized care and techniques tailored for children with special needs, with Dr. Echandy seeing patients at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital when hospitalization is required for complex cases. Oral Hygiene Education: Teaching children and parents about proper brushing and flossing techniques and healthy eating habits. Early Orthodontic Evaluations: Detecting issues early for proactive care. Tooth Extractions: Pain-free solutions for kids. The clinic prides itself on its compassionate staff, modern and clean facilities, and a waiting area designed for children with amenities like Xbox360 and 3D/HD flat TVs. They accept most insurance plans, offer CareCredit, and have membership plans for non-insured patients, striving to make their services accessible and affordable. The staff also provides communication in both English and Spanish to cater to a diverse patient base.

I had to come back and update my review because Germantown Pediatric Dental Center has exceeded all of my expectations! We just changed insurance and needed to find a new dentist. I was a little hesitant about having to change dentist, but this practice has made the transition easy and worth it. The office is run so smoothly and efficiently, there was no waiting. Everyone was so polite and made my kiddos feel at ease.

They were funny yet professional. I would highly recommend Dr. E and her team!

My children have been coming here for about a year or two now, but my husband usually brings them. Today, I had the chance to go with them, and I just have to give a big shoutout to Roman! He did an amazing job with both my 6-year-old and my 3-year-old. My 3-year-old was initially crying, but Roman stepped in and handled the situation so calmly and confidently - she was completely at ease in no time.

And when it came time to apply the treatment to my son’s teeth, he barely even flinched. Roman was gentle, patient, and truly professional. Thank you so much to the entire team and a special thanks again to Roman!

Over the years of coming here It was good at first but the last year has been all around ridiculously inappropriate. First off one of my children is scared of the Dr's or dentist. She had to get a cavity filled and she threw a crying tantrum like some kids would do and the Dr just gives up on my child and leaves the cavity wide open with a temp spacer in her mouth. Another time I was at work and couldn't make it to the appointment in time so I had one of my friends take two of my kids while my son was taken by his father. The staff there had the nerve to talk in Spanish thinking that they were safe of saying what they feel like but what they didn't know was on was on the phone with both of them who took my kids to their appointments and heard the conversation.

It is very disrespectful to be gossiping about others especially in the workplace and I front of the kids and others in the office. It doesn't matter who comes into the office with the kids as long as they are seen for their appointments and on time. What does someone's personal life have anything to do with your job? When I called to confront them. about it and what happened. The person on the phone asked well what was said.

I told her it truly doesn't matter what all was said . What matters is your staff not to talk about the clients that come in and gossip as if they aren't adults in there. It's rude and disrespectful.

We were referred to Germantown Pediatric Dentist by a family member, and our experience was incredible! Dr. E and Clarissa made my daughter's first visit truly amazing. Their compassion, patience, and understanding were evident from the start.

They took the time to build trust with my daughter, moving at her pace to ensure she felt comfortable. As a mom, I’m beyond impressed and highly recommend them to all neurodiverse families!
