My 23 y/o daughter, who is a college student, went to Dr. Bax because we live in Lewiston and the office is close. She had a cleaning during a prior school break, and Dr. Bax told her she did not have any cavities but several teeth "looked like" they may have cavities in the future, so she recommended treatment. When my daughter returned for her appointment, Dr. Bax filled three teeth during an appointment that lasted approximately 40 minutes.

She was charged $562. . . When I called to complain and request an explanation, I was told these are standard charges if you do not have insurance. When I pointed out this was a college student, and that the charge equates to more than $800 per hour, they offered a $50 credit toward a future cleaning! Unless you have insurace, I would highly recommend you find a more compassionate dentist who is more concerned about patients than the almighty dollar.
