Detailed Introduction

Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) is a well-established and expansive network of dental care providers, founded in 1982. With over 250 practices spread across nine states (including Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Texas), GEDC positions itself as a leader in providing accessible, affordable, and high-quality dental care. The services offered by Great Expressions Dental Centers are comprehensive, covering a wide spectrum of dental needs. These include general dentistry (such as routine exams, cleanings, and fillings), cosmetic dentistry (like teeth whitening and veneers), orthodontics (including traditional braces and Invisalign), endodontic treatments (like root canals), periodontics (gum disease treatment), oral and maxillofacial surgery (wisdom teeth extraction, dental implants, reconstructive surgery), and pediatric dental care. They emphasize a patient-centered approach, aiming to create a comfortable and welcoming environment. GEDC is known for its commitment to infection control, with locations often exceeding health and safety standards set by governing agencies. They conduct daily and weekly testing of sterilization equipment across all their dental locations. The company also focuses on patient convenience and affordability, offering various payment options including insurance, cash pay, and financing plans, as well as their own "Smile Protection Plan" as an alternative to traditional dental insurance. While generally well-regarded for their comprehensive services and professionalism, some patient reviews occasionally highlight concerns regarding billing clarity and scheduling. The Fayetteville Banks Station location, specifically, offers general dentistry services and has convenient hours for patients.

Everything and everyone gets 5 stars! I came needed an extraction and they took care of me same day. Dr. Morgan was extremely professional and so helpful. The front desk and all of the dental assistants handled me with so much care. I am so appreciative and they are now my primary office.

DO NOT come here, I don’t know what’s happened to the quality as of late but it seems it’s been downhill for this company. I came here for a cleaning and thought it was odd how quiet and empty it felt. Only to find out from the front desk receptionist that most, if not, ALL of the staff had quit or work elsewhere. The male hygienist they had looking at my teeth performed a horrid job at checking my gums, felt like he pulled that tool down on purpose to the point of me being in pain enough to start crying.

I know my gums aren’t the healthiest but I felt what he did was unnecessarily painful. Then they couldn’t even perform a cleaning on me cause the hygienist who did that at that location had also quit. Ended up going to another dental office that treated me much better, addressed my gum issue better and was financially better overall. Great expressions is a company to stay away from now, after the hundreds of reviews I’m reading online lately (check Reddit)

An absolutely awesome experience! The staff is very personable and professional. Myee set the tone initially with her helpful and pleasant attitude. Then it only got better from there. From the X-ray technician, to the hygienist, to Dr Morgan, I couldn't have asked for anything better. Thank you Great Expressions Banks Station staff!

This was my first visit with Great Expressions. The visit was at the Fayetteville, GA location on Banks Rd. Checking in went well, and the reception staff were friendly and competent. However, once I was inside the treatment area, it was less than desirable. There was a dead bug on the floor, and certain areas were dusty, and the exam chair that I was guided to did not appear to have been recently wiped down or covered with exam table paper. Also, the communication from the dental hygenist assistant staff was less than desirable. The hygenist assistant (Mira (sp?) spent more time talking to other staff and treated me as if I were an afterthought. She did not ask if this was my first visit or ask any questions about my dental history (was I having any pain, issues with my teeth, previous x-rays, etc. ). She also did not explain what to expect from the x-ray that she performed, which was internal and took images of specific teeth from different angles, so the x-ray instrument had to be positioned in my mouth various ways, some of which were uncomfortable.

This was different than other dental x-rays that I'd had done in the past, with one position/single bite down on the x-ray instrument taking all the images. In the middle of the x-ray, she called another staff member to assist her, who I assume was also a hygenist assistant. But again, she did not communicate that someone else would take over. The staff who assisted her did not greet me or introduce themselves. I had to ask what was happening and why. The other staff then explained that she was doing the x-ray because the instrument the other staff was using was not functioning correctly. However, after a few minutes, she used the same instrument again. So, it seemed that she took over the x-ray for a different reason than she explained. But she was better at doing the x-ray than the first staff, which was helpful for me as it was less uncomfortable. After the x-ray, the first hygenist assistant explained that I would have a gum exam, but when I asked her to explain more about this procedure, she said that my gums would be measured and then pointed towards a chart on the wall that was not directly in front of me and indicated that the exam would be done like that, but did not provide further details, or at least say that the dental hygenist would explain further.

Once I met the dental hygenist, Chelsea, then the communication improved greatly. She asked about my dental and medical history and explained everything about the exam before she performed it, including the pain to expect due to the condition of my gums. The exam was marginally painful, but Chelsea performed the exam skillfully and at a good pace. She also provided a rinse afterward, which dulled the pain a bit. Then, she explained the results of the exam and the treatment needed, which would be shared in more detail by the dentist. I then met the dentist, Dr. Morgan, who performed another exam of my jaw bone and teeth, which was not painful, and he explained the treatment plan. So, although Chelsea was very good, based on this visit, I'm not sure if I will come back to Great Expressions or continue my treatment with another dentist.
