Detailed Introduction

Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) is a prominent and expansive network of dental care providers in the United States, established in 1982. Headquartered in Southfield, Michigan, GEDC operates over 290 practices across ten states, including Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, and Virginia. Their core mission is to deliver comprehensive, high-quality, and affordable dental care with a strong emphasis on convenience and patient satisfaction. GEDC offers a wide array of dental services, catering to both adult and pediatric patients. These services encompass general dentistry (e.g., routine exams, cleanings, fillings, oral cancer screenings), cosmetic dentistry (e.g., teeth whitening, veneers), restorative treatments (e.g., dental implants, crowns, bridges, dentures), endodontics (e.g., root canals), periodontics (e.g., gum disease treatment), oral and maxillofacial surgery (e.g., wisdom teeth extraction), and orthodontics (e.g., braces, Invisalign). Many of their dental centers provide in-house specialty services, allowing for a seamless and integrated treatment experience. The organization prides itself on its commitment to patient-centered care, striving to create a welcoming and comfortable environment. They emphasize open communication with patients and continuously seek feedback to enhance their services. GEDC also focuses on making dental care accessible, offering various financing options, including accepting most insurance plans, cash pay, and their own Smile Protection Plan, an alternative to traditional dental insurance. Great Expressions Dental Centers is guided by a set of core values: driven, ethical, compassionate, inclusive, service-oriented, collaborative, and accountable. They invest in their team members through comprehensive training programs, including GEDC University, and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development for their dentists, hygienists, and support staff. Their National Doctor Panel, comprising industry-leading professionals, oversees and guides the dental care provided across all locations, ensuring high standards of clinical excellence, sterilization, and patient experience.

AVOID AT ALL COST. The front line workers are really nice people. . Juliette is my girl! Through the two years I was a patient. . she was nothing but kind, every time! but this company must be ran by the Emperor Palpatine or worst. . the man with the mustache who ran Germany those years back. . I say all that to say. .

The higher ups do not care about people. Search for a company who will be honest with you. Kasey Cartrette is horrible. This lady moves very shady and I advise those to get everything she says in writing. . Dr. Che. . . a confused man. He gets cocky by saying "his brain is the computer" but in reality.

I had braces for two years and I STILL HAVE SPACES. I really wish the doctor I started with didn't quit. He was a smart man. Dr Che is also quitting Great expressions soon. You have to ask yourself. . why can't this company keep a dentist? Overall. I'm with aspen dental now and a local ortho that's black owned. . I'm in the best hands possible now. Thank you Great expressions for just being terrible :)

My first appointment with the Great Expressions office in Tallmadge, OH was on 01-24-2022. I have now wasted nearly four (4) months with them in an attempt to have new dentures made. I refused scheduling an appointment to have my remaining teeth extracted, because the dentures they made for me looked like cadaver teeth.

My final appointment with them was on 05-12-2022, and I told them "I am done", although I put a substantial amount of money on my credit card to have my dentures made. Please do not waste your money, like I did, with Great Expressions.

This was my first visit to the office in forest park and the customer service was horrible. They don’t greet you I said good morning and no one spoke. I African American Woman that does the intake is very rude. She particularly shoved the clipboard in my hand after asking for my id and insurance card while looking at the computer never turning to look at me. When I finished filling out the papers and took them back she didn’t even look at me.

The other intake person had to tell me what to do. She doesn’t need to be servicing at any front desk, making phone calls. She shouldn’t be servicing customers any where. the dental assistance and the doctors were very nice but that intake person was horrible.

Stars don’t deserve to be associated with this establishment. I had a dental appointment on 8/7/23 @ 8am. I arrived at the Banks Rd location at 7:50am, waiting until 8:00 for the office to open. At 8:10am I called the dental office but of course no one is there to answer the call. I along with 2 others continued to sit in our cars until 8:20. At which the office manager pulled up and took her time to exit the car. I and another lady waiting, walked to the door at 8:25 only to find the door locked. We knocked on the door and she comes to the door and ask if we needed help. I then say to her that I have a 8am appointment.

The lady says, this location doesn’t open until 9 and asked if I was at the right location. I show her the email I received from Great Expression showing an 8am appointment. At this point I’m very annoyed because you’re lying with a straight face and I have been at this location since March 2021 and most if not all of my appointments have been at 8:00 or 8:30am. The Banks Rd website also states the location opens from 8-5. After letting us in, the lady checks the computer and finally says they do not have a dentist on site. She apologizes and says someone was supposed to call me to let me know there was no dentist and I comment yes they should have. What exactly am I supposed to do at this point. Now I’m further annoyed because this was my final week of my Invisalign’s. My attachments were to be removed and my retainer was to be ordered.

The lady proceeded to said it would take 1 month to get a new dentist and I would have to wear them another month. I have tried 3 different locations to have my attachments removed and my retainer ordered but I have had no luck. I called on 8/14 to find out where they were in terms of getting me in to see Dr. Reid at the Lanier Ave. i was told the other location would be calling me on 8/14. It is now 8/16 and I have not heard anything. This is ridiculous. They have my money yet I now have to continue to call until I can get someone to remove these attachments and order my retainer.
