I had a skin graft surgery today for my receding gums. I struggle with what to rate because I had a great surgeon that did a good job on the procedure. However, the office staff and customer service needs a lot of work. I am so disappointed with the service that I am pretty positive that I’m not going to get my two additional graft surgeries done at this practice. I’ll be going elsewhere. There are two main reasons why I am very disappointed. 1- Finances I received a call a couple of weeks ago from the office staff asking me to confirm my appointment. I asked them to check my insurance and get back to me what this procedure will cost me out of pocket. She said she would call me back with an exact number. She never called. Yesterday, 24 hours before my surgery, I called to get an update on the cost. The woman told me it’d be $200 approximately.
I showed up for my surgery today and was charged about $550 for the procedure. I asked why this changed in a day and the office manager said she didn’t get to it in time yesterday and wasn’t updated until the end of the day. To which I responded that it doesn’t make sense that I was given a figure that it would cost and then 24 hours later, just minutes before my surgery they tell me it’ll cost more than double what they told me the day before. She tried to describe her busy day and that she couldn’t get to it. I told her that’s not what this is about. I told her this isn’t good customer service to tell a customer the wrong amount and never follow up with an adjusted amount, even if that is the case. Also, I asked for the cost weeks ago and never got a call back. I don’t appreciate that. 2- Post Surgery medication referral After I went through the two hour surgery, I was told there would be an antibiotic and prescription for the pain to pick up from my pharmacy, which they confirmed the address. I got to my pharmacy right after my surgery, around 4:30pm. The pharmacy had no prescriptions for me called in. I called the dentist office and asked them if they sent my prescription.
She put me on hold for a long time and then said “we just sent it again”. … They never sent it a first time. They forgot. They sent it at that moment and the pharmacist confirmed that it was finally sent there. Keep in mind that the dentist office closes at 5pm. If I hadn’t gone right to the pharmacy from my surgery, there’s a chance I could’ve had to go a whole day without the after care medication and antibiotic because their office closed shortly after my procedure. I find it unbelievable that they could not have prescriptions automatically sent out after a surgery. I was in so much pain afterwards and needed relief. For those reasons I am disappointed with the office staff and customer service. The surgeon was great though.

My appt was at 4:30pm, and I arrived there at 4 :12pm. It didn't take long to get me in the chair to examine my mouth. The Dental assistant took x-rays and after that I waited over 30+ minutes. Finally the Dental Hygienist came in to review my Dental plan. Then I waited another 15 minutes for the Dentist.
He was quick with examining my teeth, but the entire process took forever. I ended up leaving at 6:43pm, just for a consultation. Yes I felt this was ridiculous.

Dr abbas was the best and I feel very comfortable when I go to see him he always great for fixing my teeth. I never had any problem after the office visit. The receptionist welcome me with a smile. I really love this office and I recommend everyone to pay a visit.

Very very unprofessional you answer the phone. Someone introduces themselves and gives you all the information you need if you’re not doing your job and taking that information down and you make the person repeat multiple times that’s a quality issue not a customer issue. Customers know what they want and you’re there to serve, but you also have to be understanding that there’s two points to every side of a story and you don’t get to slam the phone in someone’s ear just because they say they don’t wanna work with you and they want to work with someone else Customer Service isn’t always perfect and customers have the right to ask to work with someone else without being disrespected or hung up on .
The office manager didn’t make the interaction any better apologizing doesn’t fix the bad experience and it doesn’t make anyone feel better. Accountability does. If you set a high standard of care.
Make sure that courtesy friendliness and a welcoming tone are what customers feel when someone answers the phone instead of a rushed interaction because someone just wants you to give them information. . Now, when you call progressive Dental now that’s great customer service without interruption, friendly courteous, and the interactions don’t feel rushed ❤️ will happily be taking my business there
