Detailed Introduction

The Gundlah Dental Center is a well-established and modern dental facility located at 623 Main St, Olean, NY. It operates as a clinic, often described as being affiliated with or part of Olean General Hospital and Upper Allegheny Health System (UAHS), which also oversees Bradford Regional Medical Center. The center was established to address the need for accessible and affordable dental care, particularly for the underserved and elderly populations in the Olean community. Opened in 2006, the Gundlah Dental Center is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including 10 operatories (some sources mention 4, while others 11, indicating potential expansion over time), Dentrix 3D electronic charting system, and digital radiography. It is staffed by a team of full-time dentists, hygienists, assistants, an office manager, and reception staff, emphasizing a comprehensive and patient-centered approach to care. The center offers a broad spectrum of dental services, including: Preventative Care: Routine exams, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. Restorative Dentistry: fillings (composite and amalgam), crowns, bridges, and custom dentures/partials. Oral Surgery: Simple and complicated extractions, including wisdom teeth removal, and oral surgery suites. Specialized Treatments: Root canals, veneers, bleaching, and emergency dental care (often accommodating new patients within 24 hours). Patient Comfort: They are known for their focus on patient comfort and have options like IV sedation for those with dental anxiety, allowing for multiple procedures to be completed in fewer visits. The Gundlah Dental Center is named in honor of Theodore W. Gundlah, former president and CEO of Olean General Hospital, recognizing his significant contributions. They accept most insurance plans, including Medicaid and Medicare Managed Care, and also provide payment programs, senior citizen discounts, and financing options to ensure care is accessible to a wider range of patients, including the uninsured or underinsured. Patient reviews often highlight the professionalism, kindness, and thoroughness of the staff, particularly noting the gentle approach and clear explanations provided by dentists. The center also participates in community outreach, such as school-based dental care programs.

If you need tons of xrays, once a year, don't mind severe pain going untreated/ignored and them finding a cavity but not telling you until 365 days later, you've chosen the right place.

I called about two weeks ago to see if they were accepting new patients, and I still haven't heard back. The answering machine has a message threatening that leaving multiple messages will make it take even longer for them to return a simple phone call.

I was there 10 minutes early and was seen right away after checking in and it tool only 25 minutes to clean my teeth and did a few xrays. I'm very pleased with this facility as I am with Delevan Dental Center in Delevan. They are owned by the same group. So everything went smoothly. I love the strawberry paste they used for cleaning and they have 2 other flavors bubblegum and cherry. I'm sure it will be a few months for out for new patients but it's worth it.

Don't wait til have an issue with your teeth, get them checked when you are supposed to. With the new checkups they do with new equipment it's not every 6 months any more it's like 9-10 months. If u need new fillings they schedule them as well between 2-3 months out. Might depend on the patients situation so it can be sooner than that since mine isn't an emergency situation. I'm happy with the staff.

It’s now 2025 and since 2018 they tell me don’t accept new patients. Still have a hold on my tooth now due to not being able to chew on that side, I can’t eat barely chew on my other side. Rude and disrespectful when you try to ask about if they have anything available or if they take a type of insurance they hung up and couldn’t even point me in the right direction to get at least something done.

Don’t go here either if you want to be criticized about how your teeth are cuz the male dentist don’t care about how you feel their still a douche about it then when you tell them to stop they. “Slip” and smack your gum with their tools or your cheek or something.
