It was founded in 1992 by Sisters Michaeleen and Gladys Marie of the Sisters of Holy Cross with the mission to provide accessible healthcare to uninsured and low-income individuals in Charles County. The clinic officially opened its doors in 1996 in the Old Waldorf School. Health Partners Inc. operates as an independent non-profit, governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Their core mission is "to provide quality and compassionate care (Community helping Community) creating a medical and dental home." They envision serving the community with excellent patient services and guiding individuals and families towards better health. The clinic offers a range of vital services, including: Adult Primary Healthcare: Addressing chronic or acute illnesses, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, colds and flu, asthma, pain and minor injuries, and general physicals. They serve uninsured, Maryland Medicaid, and Medicare recipients. Pediatric and Adult Dental Services: Including screenings, cleanings, x-rays, fillings, and extractions. Health Education Workshops: To empower patients with knowledge for better health outcomes. Referrals to Community Resources: Connecting patients with additional support services. Clothing Distribution Center: Providing clothing and toiletry items to adults in need. Health Partners Inc. relies heavily on the dedication of volunteer healthcare professionals, including physicians, dentists, nurses, physician assistants, and administrative staff, to deliver its services.
