Detailed Introduction

Help A Child Smile is a dedicated mobile dental program operating across Georgia, specifically designed to address the significant need for accessible dental care among school-aged children. Many children face challenges in accessing traditional dental clinics due to issues like transportation and parents' inability to take time off work. Help A Child Smile overcomes these barriers by bringing full-service dental care directly to schools, transforming classrooms, auditoriums, or gyms into fully functional dental offices using portable, state-of-the-art equipment. Founded in 1993, Help A Child Smile is headquartered in Conyers, GA. Their services are provided by a team of local, licensed dental professionals, including dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants, all committed to delivering high-quality care in a familiar and comfortable school environment. The comprehensive services offered include preventive care such as complete dental exams, cleanings, X-rays, fluoride treatments, sealants, and oral health instruction. They also provide restorative care, including fillings, simple extractions, pulpotomies (treatment of nerves in baby teeth), and crowns. Help A Child Smile aims to combat the prevalent issue of poor oral health among children, which can lead to tooth pain, decay, and significant loss of school hours (over 51 million annually). They actively partner with school districts to integrate their services seamlessly into the school day, ensuring children receive necessary dental treatment without missing valuable class time. The program is designed to be convenient and often cost-free for parents, as they gladly accept Medicaid, PeachCare for Kids, and most private insurances, with affordable self-pay options available. This makes quality dental care accessible to a broader population, particularly those on Medicaid, where over 50% of children do not regularly see a dentist. Help A Child Smile is committed to making a tangible difference in children's lives by promoting healthy smiles and overall well-being, contributing to better school attendance and academic performance.

My child was seen and they cannot provide me with information on what they did, his mouth is extremely swollen and it looks like they just cut part of a tooth that has a cavity off instead of doing actual treatment. When I called they continued to make a excuse for me not being aware of what treatment was done to him. Still waiting for a call back to be told what was done to him.

Very unhappy I never received a call to know they were going to see my child. He will now no longer be seen by them as they have continually treated him but not let parents know what was treated or that he was being seen.

This company needs to be investigated. They came to my child’s school and provided treatment multiple times and didn’t let me know that he had cavities just sent a paper home saying that he needed to do better with his brushing. I took my child to a new Dentist after Help a child smile called notifying me that they were in my area and wanted to do work on my child’s cavities…. .

so my son had cavities the whole school year and I didn’t get noticed except by voicemail during this summer. I took my child to a new dentist and my son now has to get crowns on several teeth as well as a few teeth extracted. Sad excuse for a Dental Company, you guys need to review your ethics.

My parents had me go to these people when I was in high school which was approximately 11+ years ago. The person that worked on my teeth didn't even check to see if my mouth was numb before they started drilling. Worst pain ever.

Tried to get their attention to stop by yelling, but they ignored me and kept going. Now I have really bad anxiety when I have to go to the dentist because of what happened when I went to them.

My daughter is 7 she’s been going to these people since it’s more convenient at the school. She has cavities that they kept saying they were going to treat when they returned but never did kept sending the same paper home saying the same thing. Now my baby teeth are deteriorating.
