Detailed Introduction

Helping Hands Dental Center, located at 1509 Washington St D, Midland, MI 48640, is a vital non-profit dental clinic operating under the umbrella of the Midland Center for Accessible Health Care. Established in 1994, its primary mission is to promote oral health initiatives and deliver essential dental services to underserved communities, with a particular focus on Medicaid-eligible adults and low-insured individuals residing in Midland County, including Midland County jail inmates. The center addresses the critical need for affordable dental care in the region, recognizing that cost is a significant barrier for many in accessing necessary treatment. They offer a range of fundamental dental services such as comprehensive exams, professional cleanings, fillings to address cavities, tooth extractions, and the provision of complete and partial dentures. Eligibility for services typically requires patients to be at least 21 years old, reside in Midland County, and be covered by straight adult Medicaid, though a co-payment may be required. Helping Hands Dental Center is part of a broader network of free and reduced-fee dental programs in Michigan, highlighting its commitment to community welfare. The clinic strives to provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, aiming to improve oral health outcomes for those who might otherwise go without care. They emphasize preventative education alongside treatment to empower individuals in managing their dental health. Reviews from patients often praise the friendly, professional, and compassionate staff, indicating a positive patient experience despite the focus on accessible care.

Deb is a bully and I'm suing this clinic. She told me to go against what the dentist told me, made me take an appointment she had in two days, offered to COME GET ME because I didn't want to go against the dentist, and made a fool out of me probably talking to other employees about how bad she had embarrassed me. Yeah.

I'm suing them unless she is taken care of. I WILL NOT GO BACK TO BE TREATED THAT WAY. IM NOT TWO LOL

This place convinced me I had multiple cavities that need to be filled so I let them work on a handful of them and was going to change dentists after I asked both my previous doctors who no longer took my insurance told me there is no reason and no way I had that many issues and that time I hadn’t been seen. I think they know that people realize they’re doing work that doesn’t need to be done on purpose. I lost my insurance before I could change dentists but did have my X-rays sent to another office. Since I was having a with food getting caught between my canine and molar teeth I called helping hands because they did the filling and that’s when I started to notice the problem. The doctor convinced me that the issue I was having was not related to the tooth I thought and did a complete renewed filling on the tooth behind it and didn’t fix the problem.

I then called back after I noticed the issue was the same and the receptionist said she’d call back after Tuesday. I called today over a week later and the receptionist said that I need to contact some other dentist that I had my X-rays sent to. She then continued to raise her voice and tell me she’s not speaking about it bc I sent my X-rays somewhere else when I finally got upset and swore bc she was refusing to listen to me she hung up. Deb the receptionist has an authority problem and should be fired. Edit spoke with the office manager and she’s no better she refused to actually listen to the event timeline insisted that bc I got a second and third opinion I don’t trust them therefore they aren’t responsible bc it’s been a year although they see me in November to fix.

Then insisted the reason I’m having an issues bc there’s a cavity in the tooth they didn’t do work on but the dentist never even mentioned it. Still refuse to fix the actual problem abc I had sent my records somewhere else they won’t see me again. Office manager also keeps insisting that if I wanted to change Dentists then why would I go back to have something fixed that they did work on? Obviously

Dr hopp is professional and accommodating to my anxiety. The front office staff almost kept me from her with the terrible decorum. They no longer take my insurance. They refuse cash patients. I have had an extraction, filling, repair and deep clean. I am still extremely grateful for the relief.
