Patient-Centered Care: Dr. Ledic and her team develop personalized dental wellness plans, working collaboratively with each patient to achieve their health goals. Emphasis on Prevention and Education: The clinic guides patients on nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle factors that contribute to both oral and overall health. Services offered by Holistic Dentistry of Port Washington include, but are not limited to, safe mercury amalgam removal, ceramic implants, ozone therapy, and other general and restorative dental procedures, all performed with a holistic perspective. Patients consistently praise Dr. Ledic and her staff for their kindness, compassion, professionalism, and the clinic's use of modern, less invasive technology. Did not have a good experience. Would not recommend. Front desk person was not reliable and Dr. Railand did not stand by commitments. There were also long wait times.

Years ago, I had learned that there can be unintended consequences to having metal based implants. After I had a tooth pulled, I avoided having an implant by choosing to have a removable little “partial” instead. More recently, I had a situation requiring the removal of a second tooth. Thankfully, I had become a patient of Dr. Railand’s by this time! She suggested the ceramic implant.

What a great option it has been! Since I’m a bit of a health buff, I was especially intrigued when Dr. Railand told me that it is biocompatible, meaning that the gums actually attach to the implant. This is beneficial because it prevents a gap for bacteria to live, something that is seen with metal implants. The second benefit was that the ceramic implants are not conductors of electricity. Since the whole body runs on currents and involves electric action, that could be a potential problem with wellness and eventually overall heath.

Some sources suggest titanium, but unfortunately, titanium is found to be released from metal implants and can be found in patient’s blood. And finally, there is the aesthetic component where they just look better than seeing gray gums - which is common with metal implants. Many orthopedic surgeons are now using more bioceramics and less titanium. These are the reasons why it may be worth it for someone to consider ceramic over metal implants. For me, it’s been a great decision!

Dr. Railand diagnosed my child with multiple cavities. I did not believe this to be the case and got a second opinion. My child had zero cavities and continues to have zero cavities. This is absolutely despicable.
