I would not recommend this business to anyone— maybe my worst enemy. I went to this office last year for a new patient appointment. I was at the office for two hours (they redid x rays, etc. ) and was told I had over six cavities— which was absolutely shocking given my dental history. They sent in someone from their financial side of things to go over a treatment plan for me that cost over $3000. They were very aggressive & firm that I needed to pay over $3k after insurance.

I started to cry, as it was shocking and unexpected, paired with their aggression and spending 2 hours in a chair (to not even have my teeth cleaned). The financial lady then had the gall to tell me if I did not do this, there was a possibility that I could get an infection from my tooth into my bloodstream and die. She literally said that, while I have tears down my face and am trying to figure out how to come up with $3k. Is she qualified to give medical advice in a medical providers office? It was the worst dental experience, by far, of my life. I saw another dentist from another practice the next week. They counted 3 cavities, had them covered under my insurance, and when they received the X-rays from hometown dental, they were appalled at how terrible they were and had to be retaken AGAIN.

I was confused at how so many cavities disappeared from my Hometown Dental appointment to my next appointment. The experience with Hometown was such a nightmare, and I felt that my experience was aggressive, seeming very scammy, and disappointing. I see they have good reviews— and I hope the person who did my exam and their financial team has changed completely since my visit.

I found Dr. White and her team about 4 years ago and I couldn't be more thankful. She and her team are fantastic!! Caring, thorough, kind and professional. From the moment I first contacted her office I was treated to a very friendly and helpful team.

Everyone there listens to your needs and helps in anyway they can to provide the best possible service available. If you are looking for a fabulous dentist with an equally great team, caring professionals you can trust and count on, look no farther than Hometown Denistry and Dr. White!! Thank you for always being there whether it's for routine visits or more serious needs!!!

MERXAR Transportation

Be forewarned, if you decide by the good reviews to go here you will have just thrown your teeth away. First are unnecessary x-rays on machines that rarely work correctly and probably over radiate your body. Then there are the poorly performed fillings that failed within a year and required an expensive endontist to fix. (I did not use their recommended one because I feel there is a little scam going on there.

) Lost appointments, incorrectly billing insurance, half done cleanings, and etc. Most of the staff are very friendly but the charm is really covering the incompetence of this entire practice. I would be scared to ever be an employee here and I'll never be a patient/victim again.

Came in just for a cleaning and it was required that I have a X-ray. Not sure why but they said it's required so they can determine the type of cleaning they are to perform. I said I had my fair share of radiation these last couple of years and I would prefer to forgo the X-ray this time. That didn't phase them. They still insisted that they require an X-ray. They proceeded to tell me that I could bring in my X-ray from my previous dentist and they wouldn't charge me for todays X-ray. I sincerely told them to go ahead and perform the X-ray today and bill my insurance company and make some money. I said that because I knew they wouldn't use my X-ray anyway and that I have great insurance that will pay it. One minute passed and the dentist told me "they are going to sever our relationship and will not perform cleaning or X-ray work on me" just because I said "go ahead and bill my company and make some money" and they escorted me out.

The crazy thing is that I was being sincere to help her business out because I was not going to go get my 6 month old X-ray so she wouldn't bill me. My insurance was paying for it anyway. Unfortunately there was a total misunderstanding and the dentist (owner) was extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend going to the Hometown Family Dentistry in Avon facility if you want to be treated like a human being or have a special request. I feel bad for those who get radiation treatments and have to walk in this facility and be told that you HAVE to get an X-ray. This is the first dentist that has ever told me this. I've been getting the same cleaning for decades with no cavities or issues and all of a sudden they need an X-ray because I changed dentists. If you want an experienced professional staff to work on your teeth, you will not get it from this facility. I'm very disappointed! I'm sure the facility will respond back to this review with their point of view.

But know this. . . . I explained it is how it happened. The owner was very rude and did not try to understand my point of view at all. I hope this encourages you to look for a dentist with better reviews in your area and not have an experience like I did. Sincerely!
