Detailed Introduction

Hopewell Health Centers, Inc. (HHC) is a comprehensive, integrated healthcare organization operating as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and Community Health Center (CHC). Established in 1985, their overarching mission is to provide access to affordable, high-quality, and integrated healthcare for all individuals. They envision a community where everyone enjoys a healthy body, mind, and spirit. Hopewell Health Centers offers a wide range of services, including primary medical care, comprehensive behavioral health care (mental health and addiction treatment), and dental health care. Their behavioral health services encompass diagnostic assessments, individual, group, family, and marital counseling, and specialized programs for trauma, anger management, and abuse recovery. They also provide Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) services, which include case management for individuals with severe mental illness or emotional disturbances, assisting with access to community resources, daily living skills, and crisis management. For addiction, they offer various levels of care, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, partial hospitalization programs, and medically assisted detox, treating opioid addictions and co-occurring disorders. HHC operates 22 locations spanning nine counties in Southeastern Ohio, including Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington counties. They are dedicated to serving rural communities and often act as one of the few healthcare providers in certain areas. Beyond direct clinical services, Hopewell Health Centers also provides supportive programs such as Help Me Grow Early Intervention/Service Coordination for children aged 0-3, Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation, and the Women Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program. They also have clinical and retail pharmacy services available to patients. A core tenet of Hopewell Health Centers is accessibility. They accept a variety of public and private insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare. Crucially, they also offer a sliding fee scale for dental, primary care, and some behavioral health services, ensuring that no one is denied quality care due to their inability to pay. This commitment to affordable care has been supported by partnerships with organizations like the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations, which have helped expand services, including the establishment of new dental clinics and the integration of primary care and behavioral health services to reduce wait times for psychiatric care.

The office is difficult to contact by phone. Even when I left a message for them to call me back, I received no return call. She is rarely in the office. Billing and payment is not convenient. We found a different dentist after being a patient for several years.

One of the worst places to go for a dentist, me and my husband have 2 different insurances that covered the visit and the still sent us a bill in the mail. Didn't even have time to dispute the issue before they sent it off for collections, and hurting me and my husband's credit score. Mind you I only went for a exam.

No cleaning or work on my teeth and got a bill for over 200$. And my issuance said they covered the whole visit.

I recently was at this Hopewell clinic for a dentist visit and cleaning. Shawna was my hygienist and I want to thank her for doing a exceptional cleaning, using a water Pic to get off the built up plaque. What really impressed me is , she said a small bump on my lip needs to be looked at and maybe removed. And tested.

I have had this for a few years and no one has ever brought up. I thank this clinic, Shawna and the receptionist are so helpful and pleasant .
