Detailed Introduction

Hopewell Health Centers, Inc. is a nationally accredited Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and community mental health center dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, high-quality integrated healthcare. Established in July 2013 through the merger of Family Healthcare, Inc. and Tri-County Mental Health and Counseling Services, Inc., Hopewell aims to treat both the body and the mind, recognizing the interconnectedness of physical and behavioral health. The organization operates numerous clinics across nine counties in southeastern Ohio, including Athens, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington. Their comprehensive services encompass primary medical care, a full range of dental services, and extensive behavioral health programs. These behavioral health services include individual and group counseling, psychiatric care, medication management, and specialized programs like Community Psychiatric Supportive Treatment (CPST) and early childhood mental health consultation. Hopewell also offers supportive services such as Help Me Grow Early Intervention/Service Coordination and the Women Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program in certain counties. A core tenet of Hopewell Health Centers is its commitment to serving all individuals, regardless of their ability to pay. They accept various insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, and offer a sliding fee scale based on income and family size. This ensures that underserved and vulnerable populations have access to essential healthcare. Hopewell actively seeks to fill healthcare gaps in the communities it serves, often being one of the few healthcare providers in several southeastern Ohio counties. They have also been instrumental in integrating primary care and behavioral health services, inspired by models like the Cherokee Health System, to enhance patient care and reduce wait times for psychiatric services. In addition to direct patient care, Hopewell Health Centers engages in community initiatives, including school-based behavioral health outreach and jail diversion programs. The organization is supported by funding partnerships, notably with the Osteopathic Heritage Foundations, which have played a significant role in expanding and enhancing their services over the years. Hopewell Health Centers continually strives to empower individuals to achieve a healthy body, mind, and spirit, contributing to overall community well-being in southeastern Ohio.

I was a patient of NP Hayman until noon today when I terminated the relationship. In 2 visits there have been multiple errors in prescribing, she was over an hour late to my second appointment and walked in the room wholly unaware of the previous visit having not reviewed my chart, there was 0 follow-up to the prior authorization for my diabetes medication denial and no alternative medications offered. Carelessness and unpreparedness kills patients.

Upon her finding out that I was discharging her as my PCP Mz Hayman proceeded to call me directly and during that call she was condescending and self-excusing, blatantly misrepresented her actions and accepted no accountability. I have had excellent experiences with the staff, MA’s and other personnel of the office but in my experience Mz. Hayman is an unsafe practitioner.

I regret to give the 1 star rating as I believe it doesn’t reflect the quality of the center itself but her unprofessional behavior and poor practice warrants disclosure.

I haven’t been seen recently but at an appointment I had 2 years and some change ago (Feb 7 2022) with Dr Newberry for treatment and it was absolutely traumatic and I never complained. I think often of the comment he made to me. At the time, I was dealing with obesity. I have an extensive history with eating disorders - in fact was hospitalized for anorexia. At the time Donald saw me, I was at my heaviest as I was again experiencing disordered eating.

He looked at my history with hopewell and saw my past counselor noted anorexia. To which he looked me up and down in his office and told me “you should get one of those ‘I beat anorexia’ shirts”. I was too stunned to say anything. I took my test and left and have always regretted not standing up for myself. That comment makes me sick to my stomach everytime I think about it which is often - 2 years after the fact as well.

To know he was addressed about this would be nice. Every other person I’ve ever interacted with in my time with hopewell has been so positive and helpful — But Dr. Newberry did more damage than was helpful.

the 5 star review I give because of the psychiatrist LeAnn Reed. She literally saved my life. I was on the brink of suicide before I met her and she put me on this combo of meds and saved my life. She is literally the best Dr if you need a psychiatrist. She listens, cares, is kind, will listen to you and give you what you need to be stable. I highly recommend her have nothing bad to say about her and she is a great great Dr. Highly recommend the behavioral health center there they do a good job.

And Marsha and Beth Leanns nurse is great to. The receptionist people Cheyenne and Tracy and Lisa are great. All of them but those three I know personally and are great people and are busy but they'll get you in and make you feel comfortable. Now the dentist there are horrible. Especially Dr. G. He pulled a perfectly good tooth causing it to be a food trap and.

I screamed in agony for a good five ten seconds but he continued to pull for what reason idk. I've called lawyers but they say it's statute of limitations. Just wish I would of never seen him. He knows nothing of what he's doing. I warn you

curious as to why i had to wait over an hour for my appointment. i needed 60 seconds of the dentist time to write a simple referral. (keeping in mind the routine check i had w the dentist last year took no more than 2 minutes in her chair and they had me leave). i’m made to be there 15 minutes early so they can be late? i ask the lady how much longer the wait will be after im already there 40 minutes. “uh i can ask”, never comes back. i sit another 15, others that came in later are called ahead.

safe to say i left, and was called about 4 minutes afterwards LOL. that couldve been avoided if the lady would’ve actually came back and let me know something. didn’t even waste more of my time going back. nothing they can/will do to relieve my pain anyways. all i requested was a simple referral to a dentistry that actually does work. this place doesn’t pull teeth, they don’t have a hygienist to clean them anymore.

i’m curious about what they even do to make everyone wait long periods of time. patients should be forewarned if they’re going to be sitting there at most 30 minutes past scheduled appointment time in my opinion. i can’t be over 15 minutes late or i wont be seen period. i think we all miss margie lawson😆 receptions always been great, most techs on dentistry side are not very welcoming. primary care dr finlaw is fantastic.
