Stay away from this guy. I went to see him for a general check-up. He suggested to get 2 crowns bc my teeth were a bit short due to grinding. After he did the crown he left me in horrible pain for a week. Given that the pain didn't go away he did a root canal. After 2 months of uninterrupted pain he told me to get a second root canal, which I did. The pain never went away.
He told to get the tooth extracted. I didn't do it this time. I went to see another dentist who explained me that my pain was twofold. Muscle pain: I got a TMJ disorder after Blivaiss horrible treatment and sensitivity in the tooth associated to the horrible job with the crown. In a nutshell, I've lived 1 year in pain, spent close to 8000$ and found no solution for what this guy did to me. Worst part, I was perfectly fine before going to see him! and he doesn't even care Do yourself a favor and never go to see this guy

I had just gotten to the Chicago area for a week-long stay to celebrate my birthday when I began having issues with one of my molar areas. All morning I called around to several dentist offices trying to find someone who would take my apparently crappy insurance (lol new job and I just picked something for the short-term till benefits enrollment time rolls around in October). Several administrative assistants turned me down until I talked to someone in Dr. Blivaiss' office. She informed me that the Dr.
would call me back soon, and when he did he listened to my problem and offered to help even though he didn't take my insurance! He and I worked out a deal with my insurance company and he agreed to see me the next day - even working me in around cancellations. He treated me like any other patient, and helped to alleviate my pain so that I could try to enjoy the remainder of my vacation. I'd recommend him to anybody, any day of the week. Thank you so much, Dr. Blivaiss!

After a few failed attempts with other dentists, I found Dr. Blivaiss, mostly by sheer convenience since his office is a couple blocks away from where I live. Turns out there was a treasure in the neighborhood. I became his patient through multiple dental plans, and now as a private one, since I don't require enough work to match the cost of a plan.
