My February appointment went exceptionally well; the visit honored Groundhog and Valentine’s Day. How? You ask? To begin, I was impressed with the staff’s fantastic groundhog suits, all sporting a big red heart on their chests with printed words: “Grrnt, nnt, grrnt!” in a sparkling golden comic-sans font (translated, this is groundhog-speak for “Brush ‘N Floss!” They added to the aura of the groundhog mythology by unloading a large pile of fresh dirt in the middle of the reception room, inviting patients to dig groundhog holes. Cool beans! Plus, the staff made perfect grunting sounds that mimicked happy groundhogs. I watched in amazement as the staff scampered around the office holding flashlights to erase shadows; as we all know, when groundhogs see shadows, it scares the bejeebers out of patients and means six more weeks without candy.

This kind of dentistry makes me want to take my oral hygiene seriously. Hmm. I wonder what happens at this dental office in March. You know, St.

Patrick’s Day and the first day of Spring.
