Be very careful when going here for surgery. The after care staff is terrible & I mean downright cold & rude. I came to this dental office because they accepted ODSP and the out of pocket payment for anesthesia was fair. I came from Kitchener since no dental surgeon would accept ODSP. I went for consultation, Dr. Asked Samer was reserved but offered to do my surgery which was 14 exstractions, 10 needing stiches , 3 frontal cavities & deep cleaning because I had a serious infection (on antibiotics for month) They booked me quickly after (9 days) When I arrived day of surgery i waited a long time (50 mins) . The anesthesiologist was excellent & his assisting nurse was so nice. I was given laughing gas while they placed IV then going to sleep I didn't even realize. They made that part easy. I woke 1hr, 45mins in a wheel chair My partner was right beside me. However he said they didn't communicate with him with updates during surgery. This is when things go badly. They wouldn't give me extra gauze. whoever was the other assistant said "you can buy it at your pharmacy ". . . hmmm ok. I asked to see the Dentist, was told "nope you dont need to youre all done" My partner was trying to get confirmation that my perscriptions were faxed but wasn't given a clear answer.

I needed it faxed to be ready for when we got back to KW. The nurse wheeled me downstairs , through the mall (yes you have to walk through a part of the mall to parking garage) Then from there I slowly made my way to the car. Once home the pharmacy did NOT get a fax (this was 2 hrs gone by). My partner had to call, waited in hold 15 mins to ask them to refax. The dentist prescribed me 2 days (6doses) of pain medicine. He said he was giving me 5 days worth. Okay no problem, So I took medicine for 2 days , I have 1 dose left so I call them. I was on hold with front desk then I asked for him to prescribe me what he said he was going to. She said we will can you back in 5 mins. I waited 45mins had to call them again. I was transferred to the patient coordinator who would not tell me her name. She said I have to go to hospital or doctor if I want more medication. BUT I already discussed with the dentist. She said he never agreed to anything. I'm sorry what ?! I asked her to please ask him to send me a anti-inflammatory that's stronger then Advil into my pharmacy. She said " you can buy it" Excuse you madam are you a nurse? , no you are not. The medication Tortol is by perscription only thank you. She got frustrated & said go to the doctor, we aren't giving any more narcotic medications.

AGAIN excuse you miss, this isn't a narcotic it's a anti-inflammatory. I started to cry & was telling her what i was feeling and what else can I do for my throat, congestion, dried blood in my sinuses , terrible stiff neck pain and how to maintain my stitches because 2 were hanging out. This woman had the ignorance to yell at me "read the aftercare paper, follow directions and you'll be fine" Well I'm not fine. I raised my voice I expressed that I felt not heard or taken care of and most definitely did not apprciate being told i was a lier . She said " I don't have time for this, I'm hanging up this call" I cried out please ask the dentist about the Tortol please" And she said " I will not ask him, go to your doctor don't call us back" SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!!!!! I was deviststed. I called back 5 mins after &was forwarded to answering machine. I tried to email the patient manager, no response. Then they closed. It really boarder lines malpractice. AFTERCARE IS ZERO I really feel butchered up ,quick money grab & out the door. They do not care about their patients after. Absolutely no compassion for people after surgery. If you plan on going to your doctor after & don't need any further help, medications or direction after surgery then I would give this place a 3 star only for anesthesia. The dentust Dr. Akkad Samer did good work but has no bedside manner, also lies about meds after surgery. BE careful when choosing this dental office .

I had an excellent experience at the dental in Jackson Square. The doctor and her assistant were professional and efficient, and they did a fantastic job with my cavity fillings. I also really appreciated how patient they were—whenever I needed a break, they never got irritated and made sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure. Highly recommend their services!

Great place. Really nice welcoming clean waiting area. The dental hygienist was excellent along with the dentist. Explained options clearly. The reception made sure to check what I needed to pay after what the insurance covered as to avoid any surprise charges. Have been going here for my cleaning , dental xray exams and fillings and will continue to do so. Great place.

I went to Dr. Akkad for a root canal. The procedure itself was approximately 2 hours which i feel is fairly normal and they gave me a temporary crown until the permanent one was ready. While he was giving me freezing he froze a completely different part of my mouth. The Crown was on the left side of my mouth and he was freezing my front teeth.

When i told him i could still feel the tooth he needed to work on he reassured me I didn’t need more freezing even though i told him he froze the wrong teeth. I trusted him and let him take off the temporary crown and got this rush of pain through my teeth and up the side of my face. I told him it was too painful and he told me there is no point in freezing it now because he is halfway done. He then had to wipe off the tooth before sealing the permanent tooth on… most painful experience of my life and I worry about it breaking off because it was never shaped properly so it constantly feels higher than all of my other teeth. Probably because he was rushing because of the pain I expressed I was in.

They call me periodically asking me to come back for a cleaning or a check up and i wouldn't dare go there again. Nothing worse than a dentist you can’t trust with your concerns or dental anxiety.
