I moved from Utah for the Summer and as soon as I got here my front tooth chipped :P My friend recommended me to Dr. Ostler's office so I decided to give it a try. (Disclaimer: I am TERRIFIED of dentists!!!) I was pleasantly surprised since the time I decided to schedule an appointment. I called them and received a prompt response - they invited me to visit their website and fill out the new patient information forms - which saved me time once I arrived at the office. About the office.

. . When you come in you don't feel AT ALL that you are in a dentist's office! Everything is so cute and of nice taste, there's Jack Johnson music on the background and all that jazz. The service was excellent! Erin (Dr. Ostler's assistant) is very nice and during my visit she made sure that I was feeling comfortable.

They had me watch some Netflix while they took care of me, and yes, I had some good laughs even with my mouth open since I was watching Dirty Jobs. Dr. Ostler really took the time to talk to me and did an amazing comprehensive examination of my teeth, which in my whole life, I've never had. The equipment is state of the art, and to finalize, you could not tell AT ALL that she had done a filling on my front tooth!!! I was AMAZED! Since then I've come back a couple more times to get new fillings (at the evaluation I found out that some old fillings had come out and that I had a little bit of decay going on), and I totally recommend her! Also, her prices are reasonable and she takes Care Credit :) Go there and you will not be disappointed!!! Oh, and they know hoe much I love Dirty Jobs, so that's what I've been watching the last couple times I've been there. I don't even have to ask! :D

I truly appreciate having a dentist who is empathic and caring. I feel confident seeing Dr. Ostler everytime. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about her work and her patients. The hygienist, Becca, is so kind and professional. You will feel at ease when you are getting your teeth cleaned.

She did a great job on cleaning my teeth and I am particularly about dental cleanings. She was very thorough and efficient. I highly recommend anyone with any levels of dental work that needs attention to see Dr. Ostler.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Ostler and her team. After years of searching for the right dentist, finding Dr. Ostler was a breath of fresh air. I'm dentist-phobic to begin with, but Dr.

Ostler's warm and welcoming practice made me instantly feel comfortable and at home. I even had my very first filling this week and it was absolutely painless. I no longer dread going to the dentist -- I now actually look forward to my visits with Dr. Ostler and her fabulous team!

The dental cleaning itself was fine. Dentist was friendly. The cleanings weren't overly rough, but that should be the expectation when your teeth aren't in terrible condition. What bothers me is that I was given a long list of things they told me I "need!". One of those list items being a deep cleaning of my teeth/gums because bacteria and plaque were already causing my gums to recede! The explanation for the deep cleaning sounded a bit extreme, claiming that my gum line is receding and I need to do this to help prevent further recession. I take care of my teeth just fine at home but it had also been a while since I had been to a dentist and coupled with what seemed like a reasonable estimate for the work to be done, I figured why not. During my first session of the two-part deep cleaning (half side of the mouth each time), she kept making comments about how it wasn't actually that bad and as a result was going much quicker than expected. That's sort of nice to hear, but then when it came time to pay for the cleaning the bill was almost 40% more than estimated for a visit that went "quicker than usual"! A week later I have the second deep cleaning session.

Before she even started the cleaning she said that this side of my mouth was in even better shape than the half of my mouth that was craned in the first session, so she was going to use a less intense numbing agent as this would be even quicker than the first visit. Yet, somehow when it came time for the bill it was the same price as the first session and again was almost 40% higher than the estimate I was given when I came in for my initial visit! How are you going to charge someone the same amount when the two operations didn't take nearly the same length of time nor required the same amounts of numbing agents?! On the second visit before paying, I showed the estimate that I was given by her own office and that the final bills had both been almost 40% higher than originally quoted. The careless response I got was that "it's just an estimate and not the actual bill and the two amounts can vary as a result. " I replied that "when people are given an estimate, they expect it to at least be close to the final number. Being off by ~10% or less is an estimate. Being off by almost 40% is misleading and makes the idea of an estimate useless. $10 is also an estimate, but that doesn't mean anything at all when the final bill is $200. " All the lady in the office did was shrug with the air of "sucks to suck, you still have to pay".

This is a very shady way of doing business. The customer has no way of knowing that you don't know how to calculate a meaningful estimate that should be close to the final bill and the only time the customer is able to see the final cost is once the service has already been completed and it is time to pay. I took a chance on this office to not lie to me about the condition of my teeth and tell me truthfully what services I might need. I was clearly lied to about the necessity of a deep cleaning and misled with their deceitful cost estimates for their services. There is no way I will ever be back here and I would never recommend this office to anyone looking for a dentist who will provide honest treatment recommendations with meaningful cost estimates.
