My kids love coming to Kids Dental!! Everybody here is super nice and are very good at explaining what they’re doing, both towards kids and to parents. Both of my kids are very high energy and can be a lot sometimes. Kids Dental takes X-rays at every 6-month visit vs. other dental places where X-rays are only done once per year. This gives me reassurance that nothing is being missed.

The office looked like it was not cleaned. Debri all over the floors and medications left on the counter between patients. Do better. As an early morning appointment it shouldn't look like tons of people had already been seen for the day. I get your short staffed but that's basic essentials and safety of medications. What if a kid grabbed those?

This clinic is utterly unable to interact appropriately with neurodivergent kids and I wouldn't take my child back if it were the only dental office in 1500 miles. The hygienist was kind, but inexperienced and super nervous, which made my child extra nervous. The dentist, on the other hand, was beyond terrible. I have never considered calling the police about a medical professional . .

. until this dentist tried to physically restrain my child and ignored their clear request to not be laid all the way back even after a promise not to. (The dentist's physical handling of my child met the legal definition of battery. More importantly, it pushed my child fully into panic mode. ) The dentist belittled my child repeatedly for "wasting everyone's time" by not "cooperating" and told the hygienist with disdain (apparently not knowing I could hear), "what, is this kid AUTISTIC?!" The dentist told me that my child should be put under general anesthesia for future appointments.

Note that my child has been to multiple dentists and some interactions have been only partially successful while others have gone very well - especially a clinic in Bellevue that has done really extensive work on my child's teeth successfully. I thought it would be easier on my child to see a local dentist for simple cleanings, rather than travel to Bellevue 2-3 times a year, but we left without anything done at all (though I and our insurance were billed and I paid because we did "waste" their time, after all) besides creating a brand new dental phobia. I communicated about my child's sensory needs ahead of time and was assured this clinic was experienced and happy to work with us. Reality was completely the opposite.
