Kinston community health Center, Inc. (
KCHC) is a non-profit,
Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has been serving the communities of Lenoir and surrounding counties in North Carolina since its founding in 1993. Born out of a community need for accessible and
affordable healthcare, KCHC's mission is to provide quality healthcare to the people of its community.
KCHC offers a broad spectrum of services designed to be a "one-stop shop" for families' healthcare needs. These include comprehensive
family medicine (for adults and children),
dental services,
behavioral health services (including individual and family therapy, substance abuse services, and medication-assisted treatment), obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN), and an on-site laboratory and pharmacy. They also provide community outreach programs, school-based
oral health initiatives, and have a mobile medical unit to deliver services in the field, including vaccinations and testing.
As an FQHC, KCHC is committed to making healthcare affordable. They offer a sliding-fee scale based on individual and household incomes and provide reduced pricing on pharmaceuticals for registered patients through their 340B Drug Discount Program. They accept most insurance plans and strive to meet the needs of uninsured and underinsured patients.
KCHC emphasizes patient-centered care, aiming to provide a personal physician who coordinates care across various settings. Their values include respect, teamwork, quality, integrity, customer service, stewardship, education, diversity, equity, inclusion, and collaboration. The organization is dedicated to delivering high-quality primary and preventive healthcare, fostering partnerships with other organizations to ensure comprehensive care for the community. Their main physical address is 324 N Queen St A, Kinston, NC, with a separate behavioral health center located at 107 S Queen St.
