Detailed Introduction

Koala Center For Sleep & TMJ Disorders is a prominent brand in the field of dental sleep medicine, dedicated to helping individuals achieve better sleep and alleviate symptoms associated with sleep disorders and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. Founded by Dr. Rod Willey, who had extensive training in neuromuscular dentistry, orthodontics, and oral appliance therapy, the centers focus on providing effective, non-invasive solutions. The core of their service revolves around the diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and snoring, which are often linked to issues with the jaw, tongue, and throat during sleep. They are known for offering custom-made oral appliances, which are an FDA-approved and often preferred alternative to traditional CPAP machines for patients with mild to moderate sleep apnea, and sometimes even severe cases. These appliances work by repositioning the lower jaw, tongue, and soft palate to keep the airway open during sleep, thereby preventing obstructions. Beyond sleep apnea, Koala Center For Sleep & TMJ Disorders also addresses related conditions such as TMJ/TMD, headaches, fatigue, and insomnia. Their approach involves a comprehensive assessment of the patient's sleep habits, medical history, and symptoms, often utilizing advanced diagnostic tools like 3D imaging to visualize the airway and TMJ. They offer sleep studies, including home sleep testing and in-lab polysomnograms, to accurately diagnose sleep disorders. A unique aspect of Koala Center For Sleep & TMJ Disorders is their "KoalaKIDZzz®" program, specifically designed to address sleep-related breathing disorders in children. This highlights their commitment to serving patients across all age groups. With a growing number of locations across various states including Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New Mexico, New York, Texas, and Wisconsin, Koala Center For Sleep & TMJ Disorders operates as a franchise model, allowing dental entrepreneurs to leverage their integrated dental sleep medicine system. They aim to provide convenient access to quality care, with most medical insurances and Medicare often covering their services. Their team comprises fully trained dentists, medical technicians, and support staff, all focused on improving patients' quality of life through better sleep and addressing underlying issues contributing to sleep and jaw-related problems.

I went to Kolala Clinic on advice from my current dentist to check me for TMJ from his referral on my symptoms. I needed TMJ care. The doctor made me a splint, and I have worn it for 3 months and all the bad symptoms have subsided. He is about to tackle my sleep apnea problem. Dr. Willy and his staff are very professional and understanding. I would highly recommend them.

My spouse has been trying to get me to go and have a sleep study done for years. After meeting the Koala staff and how thorough every staff member was, I pulled the trigger and purchased the mouth pieces. They informed me when I started to dream again, the piece was doing its job. I now look forward every night to adjusting my mouth piece, intrigued to how my next morning is going to be. A week ago I had my first dream but couldn’t remember it, but I knew I had got some rest. Now, last night I had my second dream and this one lasted a while and I even remembered it when I woke up.

Today makes the first day I truly got to witness first hand just how amazing this mouth piece is. I woke up knowing now what amazing rest can do for you over night. Something I haven’t felt in years. The best part about Koala and their knowledgeable team, when they reached out to see if I had any questions or concerns, she was excited at my excitement. . that’s why I chose to spend my money with them and currently trying to get my mother to go see them.

I highly recommend going to Koala if you have or may believe you have sleeping problems. Thank you Dr. Brenda and the Koala team, you all have helped me start a new journey to better sleep AND better health. I’m only about 3 weeks into this, I can only have continued excitement knowing it’s only going to get better.
