I had a poor experience with this practice a few years ago while I was receiving orthodontic care. To this day, I still have issues with my teeth and have had to seek orthodontic treatment again elsewhere in just a few short years. When I left a Google review previously about my experience, the owner’s wife called and threatened to sue me for “defamation. ” She didn’t follow through with this and it would not have been a viable case to bring before the courts anyway.

I did consult with an attorney at the time. I’ve recently noticed that the Koterwas brand is not well-respected within the local communities both in St. Mary’s/California and Prince Frederick/Calvert County. Patients who have also had negative experiences with this practice are beginning to speak out.

Other dental professionals in the area have started cautioning patients of low quality work and poor customer service from the Koterwas practice, especially from the office manager who is also the wife of the lead doctor. It’s a shame and I’m sure the reply to this review will showcase the brand’s attitude toward honest feedback that’s critical of the brand and expressed patient dissatisfaction. It appears that they would rather argue and try to discredit patients who leave unhappy reviews rather than truly address the shortcomings of the practice and develop skills to better serve patients.
