This dentist accepts very few dental insurance plans because her fees are higher than reasonable or customary. Also, two teeth that needed repair I was told couldn’t be fixed without replacing a crown. Because of the cost I got a second opinion. The second opinion Dr. didn’t even suggest we replace the crowns. The little hollow places in my teeth were filled without discussion. Dr. Licata was going to charge me $1900. 00 to fix two teeth. Replace one crown and replace one filling. I went to the second opinion dentist and he repaired everything I needed done, 4 teeth for $879. 00. That included one crown! Penalty for Cancelling an appointment at their discretion.

I missed an appointment in December because I was tied up in a traffic jam. Charge 95. 00. Yes you will sign that form so you know the rules. I was stuck in traffic for 4 1/2 hours. As I called to inform about my absence I was reminded about the charge. I acknowledged as I was helpless to get there. I did not receive a bill but when I went to have my 4 teeth fixed in March I was told I must pay 95. 00 before I could see anyone. I am 80 and had no credit cards, no debit cards, no checks, no nothing so I counted what I had in my wallet. I had 94. 00 dollars. They knew when they took that money they would send me home without a dime.

They took the money. I find that not only irresponsible but mean. I had nothing in case of emergency. When I complained they did not care. As a result of this disagreement I got a letter reiterating every appointment I have missed since I became a patient. It took a bit of time for the dentist to tell me what a bad patient I have been. I’m surprised she didn’t fire me as a patient. Why make appointments that you can’t keep? Have I missed appointments previously? Yes! Why? Not too long after I started going to Dr Licata I got sick. I was hospitalized with a bacterial pneumonia that almost killed me. After that I had a series of serious health problems that resulted in hospitalization. One being lung cancer that resulted in missed appointments.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Licata for many years now, and I can’t recommend her highly enough. She is incredibly attentive, professional, and truly knowledgeable in her field. Dr. Licata and her staff take the time to explain everything clearly and patiently. The office is clean and welcoming, and the staff is just as friendly and efficient.
