I'm still at a loss for words (and that takes a lot!) to explain how positive the experience was. It began with Sarah's welcoming smile, professional caring, and constant reassurance that she and Dr. Judy were going to help, correct, and not hurt. Dr. Judy.

I would like to start by saying that I have a significant fear of going to the dentist. I believed I had broken a tooth and would need an extraction. After a great deal of fear and tears, Dr. Judy was able to calm my nerves and set me up with a plan of action. X-rays confirmed the tooth was broken, but after further investigation, Dr. Judy determined that saving the tooth was also an option.

Together, we decided to move forward with that plan. Dr. Judy and her team provided exceptional service, handling my fears and emotions with grace and compassion. JC and Racheal both took special care to ensure I felt safe throughout the process. While Dr. Judy and her assistants couldn't have known that I recently lost my husband of 35 years or that I am facing a terminal illness, they treated me with deep understanding and care.

As I walked out of the office—still in somewhat of a daze—Kayla at the front desk greeted me with a beautiful smile, patience, and warmth that I will not soon forget. If you're looking for a dentist who truly cares about her patients, this is the place to go. Thank you all so very kindly.

I never write Google reviews, but I felt I needed to write one for light dental, not just the UP location but light dental as a whole. I have a serious fear of the dentist due to bad experiences as a kid, and I didn’t go to a dentist for 6 years. I tried dentists who specialized in dental phobias, sedation dentistry and even neurodivergent clients, but I never found one that I felt safe enough to go back to. I went to light dental in UP, and couldn’t find a single thing that made me scared to go back.

Over the last couple of years, I have been to three different locations and seen 6 different dentists and they have all been phenomenal. The dentists and hygienists here are the kindest most considerate people, and have never made me feel judged or not in control of my appointment. They do whatever I need to feel comfortable, and always have new suggestions for ways to make my appointment feel less scary. My very first appointment they scheduled an extra hour just to sit with me and talk about my fears and make sure I felt comfortable before we even considered beginning the appointment itself.

My only complaint is they do book out pretty far, so it can take a while to get an appointment, but this makes sense considering they’re so popular! Having multiple locations helps with this issue as well, so don’t be afraid to schedule in another office! They’re all amazing. If you have fear of the dentist, PLEASE go here!
