I was so incredibly disappointed by Madison Family Dental and I will not be returning. I took both my daughters here and I was also a patient for 2 years. We all had positive experiences with routine cleanings (shout out to my hygienist,Taylor, who is amazing!) up until I needed a crown. The estimate they provided was $500. The crown prep occurred and I paid $500.

After the crown was placed, I was told I had a remaining balance of $1,500. After 3 months of back and forth with my insurance and MFDA, Dr. Alanna Wirtz maintained that even though the original estimate provided by the office was incorrect, I still owed over $1k. They have lost my family’s business.

I have been going to Madison Family Dental for decades and I have been seen by dozens of hygienists, some that I liked more than others, but Lindsay M. deserves a special shout-out for her professionalism, her witty humor, and yes, her periodic scolding when my gums apparently reveal that I have not flossed enough. She is a valuable asset to your organization. I am also impressed with Dr.

Jeri McCombs. Finally, years ago, I had a complicated implant for my front tooth (#9?) that is still holding up well. So, thanks to Madison Family Dental staff for my healthy mouth!

I want to thank Dr. Christine Julian-Hoernke for a wonderful implant crown. I was skeptical about getting another a non gold ceramic crown because a ceramic crown installed by First Choice Dental Madison West on junction road was not smooth and felt rough.

This new crown installed today feels perfect and is as smooth as gold! She also smoothed the other crown for me. THANK YOU! Plus MFDA has very competent desk staff. That is you Eleanor! :-)

I was hesitant on doing reviews on here, but being Black in Madison is rough and our experiences deserved to be shared. I rate this place two stars because when it was good, it was good for a new dental home as I just moved here two years ago. However, how I was handled based on financial hardship was disrespectful. The office staff was highly disrespectful in this manner and talked to me like I was a child via text.

Dr. Donnelly, at first, seemed pretty cool until he decided to call to inform me I was not allowed to return to their dentist's office. He then informed me that he felt disrespected “a slap in the face” as he referenced during call because my balance was still due. He referenced that he didn’t expect that from me.

Unfortunately, he made an assumption about me and shared it during the call because of his lack of empathy towards his patient. I fault myself as my first visit he made reference that he and others in the Midwest didn’t like Angel Reese because of Caitlin Clark as he was probing in my mouth. For people of color, I recommend to be mindful where you do business here in Madison because you may not be their targeted audience.
