Detailed Introduction

Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) is a large, integrated healthcare provider with a long-standing history of serving communities across Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Founded in Marshfield, Wisconsin, in 1916 by six local physicians—K.W. Doege, William Hipke, Victor Mason, Walter G. Sexton, H.H. Milbee, and Roy P. Potter—it has grown into one of the largest private, multispecialty group practices in the United States. As of January 2, 2025, MCHS completed its merger with Sanford Health, operating as a new health services delivery region of Sanford Health, though the Marshfield brand remains prominent within its region. MCHS is a non-profit organization that operates as a charitable corporation. Its mission is to "enrich lives through accessible, affordable, compassionate health care." The system is committed to innovating and defining the future of healthcare, aiming to be the consumer's first choice. Its core values include being patient-centered, building trust through honesty and integrity, fostering teamwork, striving for excellence through research and education, and ensuring affordability and value-based care. The health system offers a vast array of services and specialties, with over 170 medical and surgical specialties available to patients. These include primary care, various surgical services (such as Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, as seen in the provided source content), cardiology, oncology, orthopedics, neurology, pediatrics, behavioral health, and many more. Marshfield Clinic Health System operates numerous clinical locations and hospitals, including Marshfield Children's Hospital, across its service area. Beyond direct patient care, MCHS is deeply invested in medical research and education. The Marshfield Clinic Research Institute, established in 1959, is Wisconsin's largest private medical research institute. It conducts extensive research in areas like clinical epidemiology, population health, precision medicine, and rural and agricultural health and safety. The Division of Education provides residency programs for medical school graduates in various specialties and offers clinical and educational experiences for students in collaboration with the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Additionally, Marshfield Clinic Laboratories performs millions of tests annually, and Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, an HMO owned by MCHS, provides health insurance options to a significant population. Marshfield Medical Center-Weston Medical Offices, specifically their Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department, is an example of one of the many specialized services offered within the expansive Marshfield Clinic Health System. This demonstrates the system's commitment to providing comprehensive care across diverse medical needs, all unified under the larger Marshfield Clinic Health System brand, now integrated within Sanford Health.

The people at the front desk are worthless! One day I checked in for labs and then I waited, and waited, and waited some more. I went back to the desk and the other lady said the blonde never checked me in! On another occasion I tried to drop something off for the lab. The lady at the desk wouldn't touch it. It took her 3 times for me to spell my first name before she wrote it on a small piece of paper and taking it to the back.

She could have taken the bag back 5 times by then and I could have been on my way to work. It's a good thing I love my doctor otherwise I would not waste my time with this place.

To be honest the doctor herself was great, but some of her other staff there is super unorganized and has no communication what so ever! I had to have my 3D scans done over 5 times because they couldn’t get it done correctly. Not to mention they never sent my prior authorization to my insurance, there excuse was that I never told them to send it so they just never did it(which I in fact did tell them because no way could I afford an implant without it) To top it off the lady taking my teeth molds tore up my entire back right gums to the point where I was bleeding.

If I were you I’d go somewhere else where it’s more organized!
