Matt Smith D. D. S. is a very friendly dentist, and his dental hygienists are the nicest ladies! Every time I visit, it's like catching up with old friends. .
. even though I'm a fairly new patient. He explains my dental health in a way that's easy to understand, so for the first time I actually feel like I'm involved in my health (and not just another set of teeth without a name!) Their staff is prompt and professional, so it makes the "dreaded" mandatory experience of visiting the dentist not so painful after all.

I have had nothing but a horrible experience at this dental office. I had a tooth pulled and experienced 11 bone Spurs and was told this is normal. I had a tooth that needed a crown and was given a temporary crown that fell off several times leaving me in horrible pain. To top that off the receptionist who handles patient files told me that normally they do not fix problems like the crown falling off until the bill is paid in full.
She was very rude and strident with me. On top of that she threatened to go to a collection agency even though it was their fault that the crown kept falling off. One of the dental technicians put a salve on my gum to numb the area and only left it on for about 15 seconds then put a needle in my gums causing me horrific pain. Needless to say I will never go back there again!!

Very disappointed with the way I was treated by the staff. I had a consultation with Dr. Smith 2. 5 weeks post-op that was performed by another dentist. The previous dentist made 2 sets of temps. The 2nd set was too large from the beginning. (The original dentist admitted the lab made a mistake, tried to adjust it, could not, and refunded my money. He admitted the temps looked bad and told me to get a new set made at another lab. Even offered to find me another dentist. ) Since I had already had a consultation with Dr. Smith, I didn't think this would be an issue when I went back 5 weeks later. I had to purchase a different discount dental plan to see Dr. Smith. I thought I would be seeing him, considering I was technically a new patient.
I only saw the dental assistant who told me that she could only use a temporary soft liner. (The original dentist used a liner that would prevent temporary soft liners from adhering properly. I informed her. . . and, of course, the liner began peeling off that night. ) Any time an adjustment is made, the dentist should verify that your bite isn't "off". At 2. 5 weeks post-op, my bottom temp wasn't bad. The issue was a big bone spur (about the size of a small tooth) that remains and is painful. The top wasn't too bad because I was swollen. I never had a proper fitting temp. It was always loose. A patient shouldn't need a reline the same day they get their temps when their temps were made the same day they had impressions and a wax try on.
A dentist can keep adding soft relines, which pushes the temp down and out. I'm not going to be made to feel bad about not wanting to look like I have a swollen lip. There's a name for it--"monkey mouth", which means the temps are too big. I shouldn't have jaw pain because the bite is off. I should be able to eat more than soft foods. My gums shouldn't be torn apart and an area shouldn't be red, swollen, and oozing. I'm not sure how a dentist can say everything is fine when he didn't examine me? The dental assistant isn't a dentist. I received a message from Chrissy stating that if if I want "perfect teeth, I need to see a specialist. " --per Dr. Smith. This isn't about perfect teeth. It's about proper fit, being able to eat, and looking normal. They would want the same if it was in their mouth or a family member's mouth.

I went to Dr. Smith yesterday, 12/7/22,about pain emanating from a molar,#14. The tooth had been previously crowned but upon investigation Dr. Smith discovered that the tooth itself was cracked, causing the pain.
Though I had to have the tooth extracted, the professionalism, knowledge, and congeniality demonstrated by Dr. Smith and his staff made the experience as pleasant as an extraction can possibly be. I highly recommend them for your dental needs.
