The dental hygienist, Laken, provided excellent service to me today. During the cleaning she was thorough and worked with a light hand. I barely felt a thing. My teeth feel great after that! Thanks Laken!

This will be a long one but, in my opinion, a worthwhile read if you’d like to know what kind of dental providers MCHC has. To fully understand my experience, it’s also important to know that I'm terrified of dentists and have been for most of my life. I’ve had a messed up tooth for a while— several months. We moved to the area not long ago and a couple months back, I began searching for a dentist because I knew my tooth was getting worse. I've called many but have struggled to find one that both accepts Medicaid for members over 21 and new patients, but also to find one that isn’t booking 6+ months out. Last night, my problem tooth became what I would consider a dental emergency, although I probably should’ve considered it an emergency when it began causing pain by gently touching my cheek/jaw areas. I called almost as soon as they opened this morning and the woman who answered the phone (I believe her name is Michelle) informed me they do handle dental emergencies and that if I could come at 8:30AM tomorrow, they could get me in. She then glanced at the schedule to find there was a patient scheduled for the next morning and asked if I could instead come at 2PM tomorrow… I informed her that I had to keep searching for someone that could get me in today but that if I hadn’t found someone, I’d be there at 2PM tomorrow. Mind you, I’m saying all this through sobbing because I’m in so much pain, and before we go to hang up, she asked if I could make it by 2PM today. Of course, I said absolutely.

She said, “If we can squeeze you in sooner, I’ll call you back. ” 10 minutes later my phone was ringing, and it was Michelle asking if I can be there by 11AM today. Before she could finish her sentence, I confirmed I’d be there. The drive was a little over an hour from my house and it was worth every minute. I was checked in and called back within minutes of my arrival. I informed the employees of my fear and they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort… From the front desk, to the hygienist, to Dr. Kevin Brashear himself… The way they worked together to do so brought immediate peace and relaxation like I’ve never had in a dentist office. X-rays were taken and as I suspected, my tooth was infected and needed to be pulled. He offered to do a root canal if that’s what I wanted to try to save the tooth and I said absolutely not, just get it out of my mouth, please. Dr.

Brashear explained every single thing he was doing, in detail, before he did it, and keep me completely at ease. He numbed my mouth before inserting the novocaine on the front side of my gums and the roof of my mouth to ensure I could feel absolutely nothing. Before extracting my tooth, he made certain I couldn’t feel a single thing and then proceeded to tell me exactly how things would happen, what I would hear, and what I could potentially feel— despite knowing I’d had two other teeth extracted in my past. He then proceeded to sing country music and crack jokes while extracting my tooth. I’m going back soon to have a cleaning, full x-rays, and have a discussion about cavities and how to “fix” my three missing teeth. Our whole family has been needing establish care with a dentist, and we will definitely be driving the full hour plus to MCHC to see Dr. Brashear. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

I am so appreciative of the positive experience I had here today. The staff was both friendly and professional! The dentist explained everything in great detail, which allowed me to feel at ease. I can’t say enough good things about them. Highly recommend!

Cancels appointments without telling you. You work hard to get a babysitter & drive 30 mins out of your way just to get there for them to inform you that your appointment is cancelled even tho you called the day before & confirmed it. My teeth has rotted out waiting to get in with this dentist. When it's time for my appointment something always happens.

Either he leaves for the day or is out sick or the newest one being they cancel my appointment without informing me. I would not recommend this dentist to a dog.
