I am 82 years old and use a transport chair. I visited Dr. McKeever’s office last year based on a strong referral, but unfortunately, my experience was deeply disappointing. Despite paying in advance for services, I encountered multiple issues during my treatment. Dr. McKeever had agreed to perform deep cleanings and fill two cavities. During the deep cleaning session, the hygienist went too deep, and I later developed painful oral herpes simplex with sores across the roof of my mouth and pain behind my ear. There was no acknowledgment or apology from the dentist regarding this. When I returned to have my cavities filled, the dentist was missing an assistant and completed the fillings very quickly. I immediately noticed a problem with the top filling—it was catching food constantly. I scheduled a follow-up and made it clear that I have mobility challenges and require extra effort to leave the house.

I specifically requested a light cleaning and an evaluation of the problematic filling. When I arrived, I was subjected to an excessive number of x-rays. Dr. McKeever remarked that my teeth looked better than before, but when I raised the issue with the filling, he became defensive and abruptly stated the tooth should be pulled or required periodontal work. He then said I had “a dirty mouth” and that I “don’t take care of [my] teeth,” which I found deeply insulting. He walked out without resolving the issue. Shortly after, the hygienist informed me that the dentist would not address the cavity that day and that I would only be receiving a cleaning. I declined the cleaning, expressed my dissatisfaction, and told them I wouldn’t be returning. At that point, Dr. McKeever re-entered the room, threw out his hand, and said, “No charge for today. Get her out of here.

” While I was waiting for the elevator, he came running out from the back of the office and shouted, “Who are you to judge me?” I replied, “A patient. ” He then began pounding on his chest, shouting, “My work is good. I do good work. ” He repeated that I had a dirty mouth and blamed me for the condition of my teeth. He then made a highly inappropriate comment about my granddaughter, saying, “I feel sorry for your granddaughter because she has to put up with you. ” My daughter, arriving to pick me up, heard the shouting while walking up the stairs. To add to all of this, the filling in question has since fallen out as I write this review. Additionally, the office charges $60 for cancellations, even with 48 hours' notice. Given how patients are treated, that policy is particularly frustrating. If you’re looking for a provider who treats patients with dignity, respect, and professionalism—especially those with mobility or health challenges—I suggest looking elsewhere.

I always have a great experience in Dr. McKeever's office. He is always so good at explaining what will be done and the process is seemless. His staff are very helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my dental needs.
