Founded in 1978 by Decatur Mayor Emeritus Elizabeth Wilson, it emerged from a strong commitment to address healthcare disparities, particularly for the elderly and low-income residents in her community. What began as a grassroots initiative with minimal funding and volunteer staff has grown into a robust healthcare system with multiple locations across DeKalb, Fulton, Rockdale, and Cobb Counties.
