What an unprofessional and uneducated place! I made a check-up appointment two weeks in advance due to tooth /gum discomfort. When I walked in for my appointment, the front desk receptionist stated it was considered an emergency, and I would be charged for this type of visit. Nothing is for free, but an emergency appointment should not be scheduled immediately?! Going forward, the dental hygienist brought me to the room and looked at last year's X-rays, saying I needed three crowns.

It is very interesting that a dental hygienist, Barbara, first asked me what language I prefer as I speak with an accent (so unprofessional!!!) and then diagnosed me without having a DMD/DDS degree, as pain/discomfort will go away once I place crowns. I have never heard that missing crowns can lead to tooth discomfort!!! I requested to speak to the dentist, Ruba, who came in and diagnosed me with missing crowns. She did not tell me to open my mouth to check for inflammation, etc.

, yet she also looked for the old X-rays. Apropos, it appeared I was billed to the insurance for the exam and X-rays in December last year while I had a cleaning (I didn't see a doctor during this time for any check-up!). A week ago, I received a letter from my insurance stating that I was billed $175 for the last visit when doctor Ruba prescribed me a $39 toothpaste only for sensitive teeth! I spoke to my neighbor, who used to be a patient of dentist Ruba, who told me he changed dentist because of unnecessary claims submitted to his insurance!! This is a common practice in this office, and I decided to report it to the Illinois Dental Association! The dental market in Illinois is oversaturated, so finding a great dentist is very realistic! I would never recommend this practice to anyone!
