Got a wisdom tooth that recently cracked in half, I’ve been told by dentists before that if I were to get it pulled it would need to be done by an oral surgeon. When I called here I was told that I need to have a referral even though I’ll be paying out of pocket with no dental insurance. I am very disappointed that they will not see you as a patient without first requiring you to go spend $150-$200 at a dentist office to get a small piece of paper that says go to an oral surgeon. Update:Called the number provided in the owners response which was the Clinton Township location, not the Richmond location.

I was told the soonest I could come in was the end of August (it’s currently the middle of July). They did however agree to see me without insurance or a referral. Updated the review from 1-2 stars because of that and the owners quick response.

Went in there today for a removal of my lower right wisdom tooth, as expected I had lots of pre “surgical anxiety” and was worried that the procedure would leave me in pain. The assisting staff was so kind and comforting and truly put my mind at ease and the doctor himself was absolutely amazing I couldn’t believe how gentle the whole thing was! I will definitely recommend this place to everyone who asks.

I came from Chicago, taking off of work, to take my mother for her procedure. I had her call to confirm that the dentist was to do the full work before doing so, since they already had charged her to see her once, and sent her away without doing anything. She was told by the receptionist that her “dentists had talked and they were to book her here. ” We moved forward. However, I get her there this morning, first thing, and she is turned away again. The oral surgeon actually said “I do not have the fine tools here to do that” and that they “sent a letter” (during the holiday timeframe, to the general dentist, yet still confirmed directly by phone they were moving forward) directed her back to her general dentist for the procedure AGAIN who is now closed for the holidays until the 2nd week of the new year. I would not recommend this oral surgeon, Dr. Bournias.

Having had the procedure, which was done at one location on one referral, by a dentist who was actually concerned about the pain of his patient, and working in healthcare and law for over a decade to ensure patient care is first over dollars, it was clear this practice has the care or well-being of their patients as the primary concern. He’d rather not deal with certain aspects of an oral surgery that take more time. And he would prefer to send an 80+ year old woman who is in pain away not once, but twice, after his office was the final point of procedure confirmation. Also, as a side note from work in healthcare, they would not pass an inspection for sanitary environment. When they took mom back, the dental assistant had a mask on covering only her mouth, not her nose. It’s a good way to come away with an infection, a serious infection. I am not just referring to the Covid strain or the RSV that is spreading here, which a legitimate concerns, especially for seniors. But you can get even e.

Coli, depending on what she ate prior, if she sneezes, her nose runs, if she touches an uncovered airway. It is also unsanitary and just gross + negligent on the part of the practice and the dentist. Find a different place to go. Ask for an alternate referral if you are sent here. There ARE other options who WILL pay closer attention to questions ask, what they are confirming with a patient AND to the care of the patient. How I witnessed they operate is NOT OKAY and, as the patient, you deserve a better, safer place for any dental surgical procedures.
