Detailed Introduction

The Montgomery County Free Clinic, Inc. (MCFC) is a vital non-profit 501(c)(3) organization located at 816 Mill St, Crawfordsville, IN 47933. Established in 2009, it continues the mission of providing free medical and dental services to uninsured residents of Montgomery County, Indiana, building upon the foundation laid by the Christian Nursing Service which operated a free clinic since 1968. The clinic, also known as the Dr. Mary Ludwig Free Clinic, was acquired, renovated, and equipped through generous individual contributions and a grant from North Central Health Services. MCFC offers a range of primary medical and dental services to eligible individuals aged 12 and up, including adult health promotion and disease prevention, chronic disease management (such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, COPD, and asthma), evaluation and treatment of acute health problems, women's health care (including Pap smears, STI testing, pregnancy testing, and contraceptive management), tobacco cessation, referrals for lab and radiology testing, and minor surgical procedures. Dental services encompass check-ups, prophylaxis, and restorations. Eligibility for services is based on federal income guidelines, typically for those up to 300% of the federal poverty level, and patients must complete an application process. The clinic also provides interpreter services for Spanish-speaking patients. The Montgomery County Free Clinic operates almost exclusively on individual contributions and community support. It is also part of the national Volunteers in Medicine organization, emphasizing its reliance on a dedicated corps of volunteers, including healthcare professionals (physicians, nurse practitioners, dentists, physical therapists, dieticians) and administrative staff. The clinic actively seeks donations to its operating and endowment funds and participates in programs like the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) which offers Indiana State tax credits for qualified donors. Their commitment is to deliver high-quality, dignified care to those who otherwise lack access to essential healthcare services.

Great place, perfect Work, very impressed. I Was in excruciating pain from a tooth that broke at the gum line exposing the whole nerve. I called every dentist from Crawfordsville to Lafayette. With no luck.

The ones that did have An opening, they wanted 300-400. Since my work does not offer dental. At first I was hesitant but I’m glad I went in. The whole team did an Amazing job, thanks again!!
