More Smiles Wisconsin (MSW) is a non-profit organization located at 1320 Mendota St Suite 107, Madison, WI 53714. Established in 2009 under its previous name, Madison Dental Initiative, MSW's core mission is to increase access to dental and mental health services for underserved populations in Dane County and surrounding areas of South Central Wisconsin. Their dental services include diagnostic care (exams, X-rays), restorative care (fillings, anterior root canals), preventive care (cleanings, fluoride treatments, oral hygiene instructions), and simple/surgical extractions. They do not provide implants, dentures, veneers, or sedation. In terms of mental health, they offer individual therapy for issues such as anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, and PTSD, though they currently do not accept clients whose primary concerns are alcohol/drug use, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. To qualify for services, patients must typically be aged 8 and over, reside in Dane County or eligible surrounding counties, and have a family income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level if uninsured. MSW accepts Medicaid and BadgerCare insurance, and for uninsured patients, fees are determined on a sliding scale based on income.
