This is the first place I've had felt heard and cared for while in the dental chair. I've never had a dentist where I felt like they cared about me as a individual. Let a lone believe or listen to me. That Is Until I found this place.

I love this dentist office. Excellent care. Kind staff. Never a long wait. Super comfortable treatment rooms and amenities. I've recommended Mountaineer to all my coworkers and family. Cannot say enough good things about the professionals in the office!!

TLDR; this office made a huge mistake in assessing my insurance coverage which led me to agree to a procedure that was not covered by my insurance, then dropped me as a client after I brought this error to their attention. I attended this office for the first time for a check up and they told me I needed a periodontic cleaning. They told me they had an opening that same day. I informed them that I was concerned that my insurance benefits would not cover the cleaning since I was still in the witing period for the insurance coverage. Their office then checked my insurance coverage and assured me that I would be covered for the cleaning, so I agreed to the cleaning that day. A few weeks later I received a bill from them for the total cost of the cleaning, with no insurance coverage, and I received a statement from my insurance saying the claim had been denied because I was still in the waiting period.

When I called Mountaineer about this the first person I talked to accused me of being disrespectful because I pointed out their mistake, then hung up on me before I could even get to rescheduling another appointment that would have also not been covered by my insurance when they had scheduled it. After calling back, they asked me to call my insurance company instead. When I called my insurance company, the insurance company informed me that no insurance coverage inquiry had been initiated by Mountaineer. They also pointed out that the waiting period for my insurance was clearly displayed in the website that Mountaineer would have checked for my coverage. After calling Mountaineer back, they agreed to drop the charges that were not covered by insurance, which was good, however, two weeks later I received a letter from them saying they were terminating me as a client because of a lack of trust, communication and cooperation. I guess calling them out on their error meant that I was uncooperative.

The staff was kind and competent other than those responsible for assessing insurance coverage and the receptionist who was so rude on the phone. The office was also neat and clean. This is why I gave them two stars.

Today I had my first appointment at this practice. I was very pleased with the service I received today. Jerica, Dr. Simpson, and Becky was all terrific. I don't recall the last time I had a dental visit/cleaning and didn't leave with some pain. Also the office is very modern and welcoming! If this is the service I get everytime I'm glad I chose them!
