I had a small problem with a piece of tooth that broke off. As I am in NY just temporarily and did not have a regular dentist, I was looking for an option nearby. I had a very bad experience with another dental office – they did not take my insurance (Metlife), they said the visit would be somewhat costly because they need to do X-rays of all my teeth and do a thorough examination. I explained everything was ok (I saw my dentist couple of months ago), and that just a small piece of tooth broke off. However, they insisted, so I canceled my appointment and made one with 42nd Street dental.
They were very accommodating regarding the time as it was during working hours. I came to the office, which was spacious and clean (I loved that they had a coat closet). After finishing my paperwork, I waited less than a minute. The assistant took the X-ray of the problematic tooth only, the doctor explained that everything was ok and it was going to be a simple procedure. She was done in 15 minutes! Both of them were extremely nice and obviously efficient.
So were the girls at the reception desk. I payed my co-pay and I have to say the entire experience was great. I can wholeheartedly recommend them, including to all those who might be afraid of dental procedures (as they are never fun).

Cindy is the greatest hygienist in the world. My teeth have never been cleaner and I feel reborn after each visit. The entire staff is phenomenal and I cannot recommend them more. If you are in the nyc area and looking for a dentist the search is over, because 42nd St Dental is going to make all of your dreams come true.

This dental office was recommended by my colleague. The hygienist and dentist were pleasant and professional. They both walked me through each step of the process for both the cleaning and my filling. The young lady that took my X-rays was very nice. Checking out I was greeted with a smile. I will be back for sure!

I will never visit this office again and do not recommend this office. I am leaving this review with my true experience. On July 2024, I scheduled an emergency visit because I was experiencing severe pain. Before that, I was a regular patient for 6 month and had my other teeth fixed at the office. The doctor did a check up but couldn’t find the wrong tooth so she thought it was likely to be sinusitis. But the pain I was experiencing too severe. So she gave me a card of another dental office, ask me to walk in before they are closed, and to keep her posted. Before I left the office, I checked with both my doctor and the office whether or not I need to pay for a bill, and both of them told me not to worry about it. I walked in the other office and they did a 3D scan of my mouth, and identified a giant cavity on my wisdom teeth that needs immediate removal.
Then they sent me to another office for a wisdom teeth removal surgery. The scan and surgery cost me over $2000 out of pocket because my dental plan for the year has been maxed out at 42st Dental. Today, I received a text message from the 42th Street Dental about a statement. I haven’t visited the office for over 6 month so I called the office to ask where this statement is from. One staff member told me that it was from the emergency visit on July 2024. After I described what happened during the emergency visit, they left the phone to check on something, then came back and told me to disregard the statement. A few minutes later I received another call from the office. The lady on the phone claimed to be the office manager, and insist that I need to pay for the invoice. She insisted that the statement is valid because they billed my insurance for this emergency visit, and my insurance did not cover the visit but told them it is the patient’s portion.
I was very confused and frustrated by this call, especially after the doctor failed to diagnose the problem and that I’ve been told twice I didn’t need to worry about the bill. I have to describe to this lady all over again what happened during my July visit and the financial sequence it has lead to. She interrupted me in a very rude way and consistently repeated the same words without acknowledging the previous miscommunication from the office, and accused me of disrespecting the doctor’s time. I understand you’re just doing your job, but the lack of empathy, inconsistent communication, and miscommunication is intolerable. Take my $141 and I’ll never visit the place again. For those wants to advance their oral health, don’t waste your time here. Go somewhere else with better equipments and better diagnostic capacity, most importantly, better COMMUNICATION.
