I've been a patient of Dr. Flack's since I was "fired" from my last dentist, due to my horrific habit of canceling last minute. . . there's nothing that gave me more anxiety regarding the health-care field than a dentist appointment. I loathed going. I'd almost have panic attacks as the day got closer and it took everything in me to not cancel (when I didn't, that is, which wasn't often). When I would go, I'd be pouring sweat the whole time. It was miserable. I don't blame anyone for cutting me loose, not when I cost them their time and money canceling last minute like I'd do more often than not. I hated myself for doing it, but my fear was all-encompassing. Turns out that - lucky for me - everything unfolded exactly as it needed to. . . or I wouldn't have found Dr Flack. I chose Dr. Flack because he could do sedation (something I not only don't use anymore, but it doesn't even cross my mind for consideration). If I hadn't found Dr. Flack, I wouldn't have overcome every ounce of my fear, anxiety, and hesitation regarding visiting the dentist. Sometimes (thinking of my last visit), I actually doze off when I'm in his chair, I'm that relaxed. It's crazy, honestly. It's been 7-ish years now since I first saw Dr Flack and my mouth/teeth are healthier than they've ever been in my life.

I don't miss my cleanings, I go every 6 months, and even look forward to them if you can believe that. My smiles not perfect, I've still got more work to do and things are slow going because it's costly (unquestionably worth every penny spent), but it's perfect for me. Besides, I'm not looking for or even interested in "perfect. " I'm not perfect, far from it. "Perfect" would look fake and ridiculous on me. My smile is, however, prettier than it's ever been and I never try to hide my smile anymore. That's huge. Life changing, even, and not in a small way, either. I remember the first time I saw it. . . I cried. So did his assistant when she saw me choking up. She teared up a little, anyway. That's the kind of people there. They're that invested in you. Dr. Flack is the best in the business, no question. I've known this since my first visit and will feel this way until he retires. . . I hope I die first.

😉 PS. I don't really hope I die first. Dr. Flack has not just one, but TWO, offspring following in his footsteps. Can you believe my luck??? So, I'll be in great hands with them until I'm no longer in need of such services and Dr Flack can retire without guilt. . . when I say it's okay (in 40 years when he's 90 or so). Also, I need to mention. . . I've been seen by Dr. Schuck, the other dentist that works there aside Flack (and who is also his wife). I've only been with her a couple of times, but she is wonderful, as well. She is definitely Dr. Flacks match, as far as I can tell. Upbeat and positive, kind, and so good at what she does that she even caught something up in my nasal passage (that turned out to be just fine) on an x-ray once. I loved that she was that on top of her game. That and her warmth, thorough touch, and encouraging mentality put me at ease, just like her husband has always done. I liked her very much, as would anyone in their right mind, I imagine.

This spring, my fiancé was having a dental emergency over the weekend, and when we couldn’t reach anyone through his regular dentist’s after-hours line, I called North Mankato Family Dentistry’s emergency number. Dr. Flak answered right away and guided us through the treatment options.

Thankfully, my fiancé was able to get the procedure done in-house instead of waiting in pain for an appointment with an oral surgeon. Dr. Flak was there for us during a stressful situation, and we’re very grateful!

North Mankato Family Dentistry is the best dental care provider that I've even went to! Everyone is nice, upbeat, and passionate about their work. Keith & Angie are great people, not only at the office, but outside of work too! I also appreciate how they stay on top of new technology, and they offer more services than other dental offices. Highly recommend them!

My dentist phobia kept me away from the dentist for a long time. And, that lead to my need for help right away. North Mankato Family Dentistry got me in right away. They were genuinely concerned about me and demonstrated great care. I now have a dentist in Dr. Flack that I can feel comfortable with.
