North Star Dental Care, located at 2020 1st Ave, Hibbing, MN 55746, is a prominent dental clinic serving the Hibbing and surrounding Iron Range communities. The practice is led by two experienced dentists, Dr. Jacob Smestad and Dr. Brekke Johnsrud (also known as Dr. Brekke Hudelson). Dr. Jacob Smestad received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 2010. He took over the practice from his father-in-law, Dr. David Gunelson, in 2011, establishing North Star Dental Care and continuing a tradition of comfortable and personalized dentistry. He is deeply involved in the Iron Range dental community and enjoys a variety of outdoor activities in Northern Minnesota. Dr. Brekke Johnsrud (Hudelson) earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in 2017, alongside a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree. She further honed her skills through a general dentistry residency program at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center before joining North Star Dental Care in July 2018.
