EDIT TO ADD: Today my insurance company has filed a grievance against them. They continue to hold my $2000 even though the insurance has told them that they have paid in full. . One month later and they are still claiming to have never recieved either of the 2 checks that insurance has sent them. The doctor was absolutely amazing and that's why they received 2 Stars. . The billing department and office is terrible. I was quoted in February that my son's surgery would cost $1000 out of pocket that I would have to pay up front once he moved up the wait list. This was fine with me. End of May rolls around so I call to see where he's at on the list.

. I'm told "oh wow I planned on calling you today to book an appointment for his surgery. And by the way you'll have to pay the $2000 before we can get you on the schedule. " So I ask "how did it jump from $1000, which is what my insurance quoted for me to pay, to now $2000?" I was told they "have had issues collecting payments after the surgeries so need to collect at least double what my insurance is quoting to ensure it's paid for. " That should've been my sign that all they care about is money. I paid the bill not even a week later. Finally get a call two weeks after that, and schedule my son's surgery for the end of June. An entire month after making my $2000 payment. The day prior to the surgery I ended up switching dental insurances to someone who actually covered the entire bill. My son had surgery June 23rd.

My dental insurances sent them checks on July 11th. They're claiming they still have not received a payment for my son's services as we're moving into August now and cannot issue me a refund on my money until they do. Now they ignore any message I send or tell me "Lisa" is not in. All this office cares about is the money and I will be calling whoever I can to inform them that they have now taken both a payment from myself and BOTH of my insurances, the old one, and the new one. . and that they refuse to refund me the money that I overpaid for this that I was told from the very beginning would be refunded once insurance paid their portion. It's sad, because the dentist is absolutely delightful, but her office has the poorest customer service I've seen in a doctor's office, they could care less about the patients or their families. Would not reccomend!!!

My son loves your dentist establishment. But when we had a scheduled appointment six months prior, everything went well but supposedly after work was done on my son, the receptionist told us just now at that time his insurance did not cover his dental Costs. . the receptionist canceled my appointment without even asking me. She said "we have to cancel because your son's insurance doesn't cover anything anymore. " I thought it was ignorant and rude when my son's appointments get canceled and don't even think to ask me or tell me there are going to be co-pays.

DONT ASSUME I cannot afford my son's dental work without his insurance. . also still find it kind of fishy that right after his dental work is when his insurance didn't cover anything anymore. She said it happened just now. . so I am very disappointed because my son loves and trusts his dentist.

It will take him a long time to trust another one. . wish provider's would not assume things and should've talked to me before automatically canceling my son's appointments. Also my son has been a patient there since last year.

I called to reschedule a first patient appointment after being referred here from M. R. Dental. Somehow, they had a missed appointment flag on my account and said - their terms and office policy - I will never be able to reschedule or be a patient because of a missed appointment. SO as one of the only pediatric dentists in the area (even driving from Escanaba) that's a pretty messed up and unfair policy.

Seems weird and cruel to the families of the U. P. , who already struggle to find a pediatric dentist to just write you off like that as a patient. I offered to pay a fee or cancellation fee, anything as I am trying to just get a good dentist for my children but nope not here.

I would give 0 if I could!! If your child has anxiety/fear about the dentist, this is not the place! 90% of that staff is just rude! I have received several eye rolls from the staff over asking questions or letting them know any concerns I have! I figured with it being a “pediatric” dentistry they would be kind and understanding! You also need to sign forms saying your children will be respectful and cooperative or we will not seem them along with many other “rules”… Not so much a pediatric dentistry I’m in my option!
