Very Disappointing and Unprofessional Experience I had a terrible experience at this dental office. They told me I had five cavities and needed immediate treatment, which felt suspicious. Thankfully, I decided to get a second opinion — and guess what? The other dentist said I had zero cavities and that my teeth are completely healthy. This makes me seriously question the honesty and integrity of this practice. It felt like they were trying to push unnecessary procedures just to make money.

On top of that, the overall service was unprofessional and dismissive. I do not trust this place, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Please be cautious if you choose to visit — and always get a second opinion.

Okay place, I guess, but after going here for almost two years, I'm going back to my old dentist. I just didn't feel like it was good service in general, but I definitely didn't feel like a priority or that they cared about customers' experiences. I never left any of my cleaning appointments feeling like my teeth were actually cleaned thoroughly. This is the biggest reason why I'm leaving. They mostly used the water pic and sent me on my way; no scraping or buffing/polishing at all.

I had a few cavities filled at different times. One time they were behind schedule and rushed, so the doctor didn't sand down the excess filler that had gotten on the side of my teeth. My tongue was numb at the time, so I had no idea. On my next check up, I asked if they could sand it down because I kept rubbing my tongue on it, but the tech said it "looked fine" and they could "ask for the dentist if [I] wanted, but it'd be a long wait. .

. " Receptionists here were nice, but always seemed confused and had to ask other people for help (about my insurance card info and two times when checking out at the front), and there were always several workers at the desk chatting about non-work things that distracted the people helping me. Two times I scheduled an appointment apparently after their lunch time because I (and other people) had to stand outside 5 extra minutes past our appointment time to be let in the building (which is okay, but then don't schedule my time then??).

Everyone one was very friendly. Took the time to explain each step. Dr. Ely was very friendly and took time to answer my questions. Her assistant explained every step as well. The staff with Dr. Ely all work as an informative team. You find out early what you insurance will pay and what you need to pay, so no surprises. I do recommend this Novi Oaks Dental!
