I had to bring my brother here for emergency dental work. He was having excruciating pain in his mouth for 4 days and his face was swelling up like a balloon but our mom lost her job and thus lost his health and dental coverage. After panicking all morning, calling about 15 other places and driving to three other clinics I called and spoke to this wonderful woman at Open Cities Health Care who explained that they could see my brother today and that they work on a sliding scale for patients without health coverage.

I rushed over here and they got him in right away. Took care of my brother's dental concerns in about 2 hours and were very kind and gentle with him. I can't thank everyone enough at this place for taking care such good care of my brother!

If you have an alternative option for a health facility, don’t go to this place! I had just one visit with a nurse practitioner there and I never wanted to go back. The place has a sterile, unwelcoming energy, and the nurse was cold and uncaring. I felt very uncomfortable there the whole time. And finally, the way they handled a financial matter was absolutely outrageous. I’ve paid $50 copay because I didn’t have insurance at the time with a perspective to be reimbursed after my insurance covers my visit.

They were paid in April and I was reassured that I will have a check no later than by the end of May. It is already the end of August and I still don’t have the check. Ive been calling them every day but they just ignore me. I am writing this review because I don’t want anyone else to go through a similar experience!

just now NEW This place is a god send! I fall in the middle ground of poverty and working/middle class. I cannot afford out of pocket insurance costs but do not qualify for insurance assistance program. They have a sliding scale that accommodates your financial situation. But beyond that, they put patients and their health over profit or payment.

I have went years with untreated medical conditions due to my inability to pay and being made uncomfortable at reception desks for that reason. The staff is kind, knowledgeable and resourceful. Absolutely grateful for all the services they provide.
