Detailed Introduction

Oral Appliance Therapy, with Dr. Andrew P. Soulimiotis, DMD, at its helm, is a dedicated practice located in Atlanta, GA, focusing on the specialized field of dental sleep medicine. The core service provided is custom-fitted oral appliance therapy (OAT) for the effective management of snoring and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Dr. Soulimiotis, a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (ABDSM), brings extensive expertise and a patient-centric approach to his practice. His background includes years of specialized training and experience in dental sleep medicine, building upon a foundation of general and cosmetic dentistry. He took over a highly respected practice from Dr. Sherri Katz, a well-known figure in the sleep medical community. Oral Appliance Therapy offers a non-invasive, comfortable, and often preferred alternative to Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines for patients diagnosed with mild to moderate OSA, or for those with severe OSA who are unable or unwilling to use CPAP. These custom-made devices, resembling orthodontic retainers, are worn during sleep to gently reposition the lower jaw and/or tongue. This action helps maintain an open and unobstructed airway, preventing the collapse of soft tissues in the throat that cause snoring and breathing interruptions. The practice provides a variety of oral appliances, including popular brands like SomnoDent®, ProSomnus® EVO™, The SUAD, The OASYS Herbst, EMA, and Thornton Adjustable Positioner (TAP), ensuring a tailored solution for each patient's unique needs and comfort. The process typically involves an initial consultation, comprehensive examination, fitting of the custom appliance, and ongoing follow-up care to ensure its continued effectiveness and comfort. Benefits of choosing Oral Appliance Therapy include its portability, quiet operation (no machine noise), ease of wear, and higher patient compliance rates compared to CPAP. It aims to significantly improve sleep quality, reduce daytime fatigue, and mitigate the health risks associated with untreated sleep apnea, such as cardiovascular issues. The practice emphasizes a holistic approach, often collaborating with medical physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Dr. Andrew is a talented, caring and gentle dentist with a wonderful manner. Always makes you feel at ease and comfortable. An understanding that often times a patient is a little fearful...he puts you at ease . Dentistry for Midtown is a beautifully run office with a super competent staff. Highly recommend.

During my corporate career, I moved several times and have had several dentist. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2005, I was introduced to Dr. Andrew Soulimiotis. He has been my dentist since then and the best I've ever had. He is easy to talk to and his passion for his occupation is present on every visit to the chair. His artistry is also great.

My front teeth are bonded and he was the first dentist to match the natural look I wanted. In addition, the bond is now 11 years old and still strong. I've never had a bond last that long. I highly recommend Dr. Andrew for all your dental needs.

I've been a patient of Andrew's for the last couple of years and couldn't be happier with the care he provides. I saw him originally for braces. Something I'd been thinking about doing for a while, since I never had braces as a child. He recommended Invisalign. The treatment worked incredibly well, and I'm very happy with the results.

He took great care in tweaking the process during the treatment to ensure the best results. Since then, I've continued as a patient with Andrew as my general dentist. He is personable, laid back, likable, a great dentist and his office is conveniently located in the heart of Midtown. I recommend him without hesitation.

Dr. "Andrew" (Soulimiotis) has been my dentist for several years and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a thorough, kind & compassionate dentist. He does not treat symptoms - he goes beyond that to find the actual cause of this issue and works on resolving. His bedside manner is outstanding - he is always fully engaged.

He listens & always makes sure I am comfortable during any procedure. If you are looking for the best in the field, give Dr. Andrew a call.
