I never thought I would write a review about loving a dentist office but here I am. This place is so convenient to get to, they have the most flexible appointments, it’s always spotless, and my cleanings are quick and never painful.
I previously lived in NYC where dentists run insane cavity scams so I can say with confidence this place is only going to recommend treatments and procedures if you really need them.

Edit to owner: I mention that I am part of the LGBTQ+ community because I feel my poor treatment at your facility is related to that, as a trans person I did not feel welcome or safe. You did not pull the correct records, you do not have my name. Please accept that your office performed this procedure as I described and make improvements as necessary. I am disappointed to have to leave this review as Palm was recommended to me over and over, especially as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and a high anxiety surrounding dentists/shots. My initial visits were okay, nothing extraordinary that most reviews here state. However, during a deep cleaning I informed the dentist I had a severe phobia of shots, I was not offered anything to help ease this (I was previously informed by referrals, reviews and staff that these would be offered and available).
I asked and they seemed annoyed, insisting it wasn’t available and proceeded. The dentist injected 18 shots in succession, with frustration and appearing annoyed by my anxiety attack/fainting. I had told them I was not okay and he just kept injecting them. It was like some nightmare or torture - I’m not exaggerating. It was more than excessive as I was unable to speak the rest of the day as my mouth was so numbed. I have lived many places, had many dentists and unfortunately have had this procedure done more than twice before this event.
This is not normal and was not acceptable. I never returned and would never recommend Palm. It worsened my anxiety and phobia around dental work and shots. Incredibly disheartening to review.

When I first moved back to southeast Michigan I saw palm family as the top rated dental practice in the area. It is true! I have had Dr Palm and another doctor no longer with the practice examine my teeth and both were great! They are properly staffed with their hygienist team and they are so professional and polite.

I was looking for a reliable dental provider with skilled professionals and good patient care. I found Palm Family Dental through my in-network insurance and, based on the positive Google reviews, decided to give them a try. I arrived on time for my appointment but had to wait about 30 minutes. The assistant asked me a few questions, leading me to believe I would receive a proper checkup and have my retainer attachment issue addressed. However, the dentist only spent about five minutes confirming that my retainer glue had detached—nothing more—before I was informed of a $75 consultation fee. While I understand paying for a professional evaluation, I was not informed beforehand that this “consultation” would be such a brief and limited assessment. Had I known, I wouldn’t have proceeded.
This approach feels more like a quick turnover model—charging $75 for a few minutes without real value to the patient. Afterward, I followed up via email to clarify the fee and expectations, but I never received a response. Instead, I was bombarded with appointment cancellation messages and claims that voicemails were left—none of which I saw. I have a busy schedule, and all my calls are planned. Email is my preferred and most reliable way of tracking communication. A professional office should respect that instead of overwhelming patients with texts and calls without prior notice. When I finally received a response, rather than addressing my concerns or offering any resolution, they simply referred to their policies.
Even worse, they justified their lack of response by saying they are “very busy too. ” A busy schedule is not an excuse for ignoring patient concerns—especially when I took the time to communicate professionally through email. It came across as dismissive, as if they were doing me a favor rather than providing the service I paid for. Overall, I was disappointed in the lack of transparency, communication, and patient care. If you’re looking for a thorough, reliable dental provider that respects your time and concerns, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
