Detailed Introduction

Panda Pediatrics is a dedicated pediatric practice situated at 1803 W 6th St, Lawrence, KS 66044. The practice is closely integrated with the Heartland Community Health Center, a partnership that began with a merger in January 2021. This affiliation enhances their ability to provide comprehensive and integrated healthcare services to the community, leveraging Heartland's status as a federally qualified health center. Panda Pediatrics offers a wide range of services for newborns, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to 21 years of age. Their core mission revolves around promoting wellness and preventive care, with a strong emphasis on healthy growth and development. Key services include: Well-Child Care: Routine check-ups are central to their practice, providing opportunities for physical and mental growth assessments, parental counseling, screening tests, and immunizations. They follow the American Academy of Pediatrics' recommended immunization schedule and are pro-science and pro-vaccine. Acute and Chronic Illness Management: They provide medical care for both acute illnesses (e.g., ear infections, fever, cough, respiratory symptoms, vomiting, diarrhea) and ongoing management of chronic conditions such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension, and asthma. Developmental, Behavioral, and Mental Health: Panda Pediatrics places significant importance on children's mental health, conducting routine mental health screenings at well-child visits. They offer evaluation and treatment for educational issues like ADHD and learning disabilities, and manage behavioral concerns including sleep and feeding problems, toileting issues, and common behavioral challenges in children and adolescents. They aim to support the child's emotional, mental, and social needs as much as their physical health. Convenience and Accessibility: To ensure timely care, Panda Pediatrics offers appointments during regular office hours and has a walk-in clinic specifically for non-emergent sick symptoms. They maintain a physician on call 24 hours a day and provide a nurse triage line for questions, demonstrating their commitment to being available when patients need them most. Affiliation with Lawrence Memorial Hospital (LMH): They are affiliated with LMH for well-newborn care for their patients. Community Recognition: Panda Pediatrics has been recognized by the community, having won the "Best of Lawrence" community vote since 2013 and being a 5-star Kansas Breastfeeding Friendly Practice. The practice strives to create a pleasant and supportive environment, taking the time to communicate effectively with parents to help them understand their child's needs and providing up-to-date medical knowledge. Their approach is patient-centered, aiming to guide children toward optimal health and well-being from infancy through young adulthood.

The front desk worker was very rude and didn't know how to talk to people. I will never take my child back there

My daughter had her physical in January 2023 and I’ve been getting nonstop invoices for payment when it’s 100% covered by insurance. I talked with billing in May once and again in July twice and they kept saying they didn’t understand what was going on but would contact insurance and get back to me, but don’t worry or pay the invoice cause it’ll be covered fully as it’s routine visit and my daughter has Medicare United Health Community Plan which covers 100% through heartland. I’ve now called 2x since our last talk in July and left messages regarding why I’m still getting a bill for her January physical and no one responds to me anymore. I reached out to my insurance and they are stating Panda hasn’t even submitted anything to them in 2023 at all.

I’ve used this clinic since 2020 and it’s turned to an absolute mess. Strongly do not recommend.

I was BEYOND disappointed with my experience during the drive-through vaccination clinic. My mother was informed to pull the car forward not even 10 feet while she was holding my six month daughter so they could get more cars in line behind us. An older staff member then came up to us and insinuated that I did not love nor care for my children because we did not buckle her in her car seat for that 10 foot drive she continued to then tell me, a 25-year-old mother with two children in her car, that I need to make eye contact with her when she’s speaking.

To even say something like that to an adult, much less in front of their own children, is very wrong and I’m very disappointed.

Took my child in and we saw Dr. Kelley he was great and very informative. I left feeling very heard and validated in my concerns. Great experience given the circumstances.
