Detailed Introduction

Paramount Dental, operating under the umbrella of HRI Dental & Vision and affiliated with ProMedica, functions primarily as a dental insurance plan provider rather than a single physical dental clinic. While the address "1449 Kimber Ln SUITE 103-A, Evansville, IN 47715" is listed, online searches indicate this is likely an administrative or claims processing location, or perhaps an affiliated clinic within their network, as the primary business appears to be dental benefits administration. The website "insuringsmiles.com" is the portal for HRI Dental & Vision, which encompasses Paramount Dental plans. Paramount Dental offers a variety of dental benefit plans designed for both individual purchasers and employer groups, primarily serving Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio, with network access extending across all 50 states. Their core principle is to provide access to convenient and affordable dental care by leveraging a network of participating dentists who have agreed to contracted fee schedules (Maximum Allowable Charge or MAC) for various services. This model aims to reduce out-of-pocket costs for members. The range of services covered under Paramount Dental plans typically includes: Diagnostic & Preventive Care: Exams (periodic, limited, comprehensive), radiographs (full mouth, panoramic, bitewings), fluoride treatments, routine teeth cleanings, and sealants. These are often covered at 100% when utilizing in-network providers. Restorative & Prosthodontics: Core build-ups, crowns (porcelain, ceramic, stainless steel), fillings (silver or white), protective restorations, and removable dentures. These services typically have a 50% coverage. Endodontics & Periodontics: Root canal therapy (anterior, posterior, retreatment), scaling and root planing, full mouth debridement, and periodontal maintenance. These also often have 50% coverage. Oral Surgery: Simple extractions, impactions, and surgical extractions, generally covered at 50%. Miscellaneous: Emergency palliative treatment, general and IV sedation, and athletic mouthguards, usually covered at 50%. Members can manage their dental benefits through an online portal on insuringsmiles.com, where they can print ID cards, verify benefits, view claims history, and find in-network providers. Paramount Dental emphasizes the importance of pre-treatment estimates for major procedures, allowing members to understand their financial responsibility upfront. They also work with third-party financing companies to help members afford necessary dental care. The provided phone number (800) 727-1444 is a direct line for Paramount Dental Member Services, available Monday through Friday, 7 am to 7 pm CST.

The website unbelievably bad. My account was merged with someone else allowing me to view their information. Once that was straightened out, the website is so so bad it makes me paranoid that this company isn’t even legitimate. I have yet to use my dental insurance and I would be surprised if can actually use it.

This dental insurance is absolutely useless. ! You might as well not have any. Unless you live where the providers are and that will accept such a low ball amount for service from them. You have $1000 to use yearly is what I was told when I called before the scheduled appointment and you have not used any of it. So thinking that we had the procedure done to find out they aren’t going to pay but $6.

80. Any way since I have to pay $610 up front and 769 after the procedure that’s over my amount anyway. Not including what we pay for family dental yearly at my husbands work. So it is good for nothing!! They don’t even get back with you after you put in a claim ticket! In other words we are paying the whole thing!!!!

We had paramount dental from 2019-2023 paid every week even without having to use it for anything other than normal yearly cleanings for our family. My kids reached the age for Ortho, one in 2022 and one in January of 2023. Our first kid finished with his work in Aug of 2022 with our bill being paid in full…on our end. The second started braces in Jan of 2023.

My husband switched jobs and we got new insurance in April 2023. Received a phone call from our ortho that paramount did not pay their portion on our first child leaving a 1400$ balance and only paid 75$ leaving a 1925$ balance on our second kid with us having to pay the remainder. The amount of money that we have paid into this dental insurance over the years and the terms they somehow have set up to pay DOLLARS to the orthodontics in return is DISGUSTING! Six months after our son finished treatment and a closed bill to get hit with they never even finished paying it is absurd! Worst dental insurance EVER!

Mind the reviews. It doesn’t take very long to uncover just how shady this business is. My dentist office straight up dropped them halfway through the year because they didn’t want to deal with them. Only one cleaning for me this year oh well.

You can’t email anyone for help, it’s phone only, and good luck trying to figure out which one of their varying portals and parent websites you need to log in to access your records. Good luck with the paper card they give you. Good luck with recovering your account if they won’t take the password the company autogenerates through their portals. Good luck with their find a dentist tool that is the most un user friendly thing I’ve ever seen, or searching their pdf of dentists which are so pick and chose it’s laughable.

I’d be more mad that I lost money on this this year but it’s so bad I find it funny, and it was so cheap I essentially got what I paid for. Which was 1 cleaning. Whoever is managing the multiple nested umbrella companies needs to hire a fleet of marketing managers to get their stuff straightened out.
