This place is terrible. Stay away. Between my wife and I we’ve had 3 of our last 4 appointments cancelled. Some at the last minute. I’ve been going to the previous practice, Stone & Johnson, for many years and never had an appointment cancelled. I live out of state half the year and make appointments for when I’m here. This place can’t be counted on.

Horrific front desk staff. They’ll turn you away if you’re 5 minutes late. Will claim you need cavities filled, but when you get checked by another dentist at a different practice, you’ll get confirmation all is well and no cavities. We are gradually moving away all our appointments to other clinics.

I've been a patient for about 6 years and I've had generally good interactions with the clinical staff. That said, my last appointment led to a bunch of issues: The hygienist let me know that no dentist in the office at the time and mentioned the dentist would look at the x-rays and call if there were problems. I assume there are some issues that can only be seen visually and it's concerning that no dentists were available in the clinic. On top of that, they submitted the claim to my insurance under a dentist who no longer worked at that clinic, so it was initially denied. Once that was fixed, the type of x-rays they ordered weren’t covered by insurance because they were done too early.

Documentation and communication are a clear issue for the front end staff, as it took three months and half a dozen phone calls before getting the issue to the practice manager. Unfortunately, they didn't offer any solutions to fix the issue and placed all the responsibility for checking coverage on me. This would be reasonable for planned procedures (fillings, extractions, etc. ) but not when you’re sitting in the chair and the hygienist says, "Ok, we're doing x-rays today". Do they expect patients to say, “Wait…” and call their insurance while sitting in the chair? They put a note in my profile to contact me prior to other appointments with the plan, but that doesn't fix this outstanding bill or prevent the same issues from happening to other patients.

The right thing to do would have been to waive the charges and let patients know about added procedures ahead of time, or (even better), get pre-treatment estimates from patients’ insurance before the appointment. Overall, I’m very disappointed in their lack of accountability. Edit to add: I had one more appointment and they didn't reach out with the plan as they said they would.

I had an appointment scheduled for December 19th at 10:00am. The appointment was made back in May. The clinic called to reschedule the appointment because the hygienist had an death in the family. The soonest they could reschedule the appointment was for the end of March. I have my own business where client appointments are scheduled.

If I ever need to reschedule, I run double time to accommodate clients--I would never suggest they wait 4 months because of my scheduling challenge. The Park Dental representative said it was due to short staffing. Park Dental, you have a serious problem on your hands that is going to result in losing patients but perhaps that is your goal. I have been a patient for almost 30 years and will not return.
