Detailed Introduction

Peninsula Community Health Services (PCHS) is a cornerstone of community healthcare in Kitsap, Mason, and rural Pierce Counties in Western Washington. Established in 1987 as a community clinic in Bremerton and becoming a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) in 1995, PCHS is committed to eliminating healthcare disparities by providing high-quality, accessible, and affordable health and wellness services. Their mission is to "see and value every person," ensuring that care is available to all, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay, offering a sliding fee discount program for eligible patients. PCHS operates multiple clinic locations, including the Belfair Clinic at 31 NE State Route 300, Suite 200, Belfair, WA 98528. This integrated clinic offers a wide range of services under one roof, including comprehensive medical care (physical examinations, immunizations, family planning, chronic disease management, minor procedures, newborn and well-child care), dental services (preventive care, oral examinations, restorative treatment, emergency care, specialized infant and child dental care), behavioral health counseling (depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use disorder treatment including Medication-Assisted Treatment like Suboxone), and on-site pharmacy services. They also provide health education and promotion activities, nutrition assistance, and support services to connect patients with community resources like housing and employment. PCHS emphasizes a patient-centered, integrated care approach, where medical, dental, and behavioral health providers collaborate to create comprehensive treatment plans. They offer telehealth options and have a fleet of mobile clinics and school-based health centers to reach vulnerable and isolated populations, including those experiencing homelessness. PCHS is accredited as a Patient-Centered Medical and Dental Home by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), signifying their commitment to quality and patient-focused care. Their commitment to the community extends to having a majority of their Board of Director members be PCHS patients, reflecting their dedication to community-driven healthcare.

Customer service is absolutely horrible. The receptionists are not empathetic to clients needs. She was absolutely rude to my mother-in-law who is elderly and has difficulty speaking. They made her cry, this is how traumatic the experience was.

Also, when you attempt to speak with their clinical manager, Joshua Wyatt, he cannot be contacted. This clinic is by far the worst clinic I have ever experienced. Please, for the sake of your loved ones, avoid this clinic at all costs.

I'm tired of these snooty elitist doctors who don't listen to patients needs. If I could afford it I would go elsewhere for my care. I would not recommend Peninsula Community Health Services to others.

doesn’t matter which clinic i visit, none of the dentist listen to understand. idk if they think i’m there for the pain meds as i’ve been there multiple times experiencing pain over the last year and a half but never once asked for pain relief just a diagnosis and resolution but telling me nothing is wrong with me and a smile on their face, offering referrals only because i ask just to shut me up and get me out of their hair is exactly what they do. i have never felt so voiceless and powerless.

i know my situation is complex if i’ve seen other doctors as well with no answers but the way they treat me is honestly unacceptable.

The dentist was busy with a patient that arrived after me giving him fillings up until 10 min before my appt ended and still had to do a full exam, I told the assistant *who was sick with no mask coughing in my space the entire time* that I would be leaving and she responded with * ohh she'll be right here, I left I had a ride waiting and had been in limbo for about 30 min after my x-rays; I told her the doc should have been in there but first off I just did t want my face coughed in, was a terrible experience and is every time
