I strongly recommend Dr. George Mandelaris, if you are in the Chicagoland area. In my case, I actually traveled from overseas to see him for an implant that has lasted me two decades so far and is going strong. I don't write public reviews almost ever but am making an enthusiastic exception in this case. Don't think twice!

After a failed implant in 2020, I was nervous to go through the process again. After a recommendation from my dentist to meet with Dr. Botto, it was a no brainer that she would perform my bone graft(s) & implant. Dr. Botto could not have been a better option.

It was a long, 18 month process, but she was incredibly meticulous & answered every question I had throughout. She made sure to follow up the night of & days following each survey & always moved around her schedule for a quick pop in the office if I had any concerns. Could not recommend Dr. Botto enough!

Dr. Mandelaris performed two surgeries for me and coordinated interdisciplinary treatment for issues related to TMJ. His work is excellent, his team is harmonious, and he is a pleasure to work with.

I found Dr. Mandelaris easy to understand and communicate with, and both he and Tammy did everything they could to help with insurance claim issues. I’m grateful for the care I received at this practice!

Phenomenal patient care and extraordinary attention to detail! Dr. George Mandelaris was my surgeon for a single implant on tooth #14, with an open sinus augmentation. Prior to the surgery, I was very anxious due to intermittent stomach problems, with a sensitivity to pain medication and also previous adverse outcomes from an extraction and bone graft (same tooth) and recent recovery from lockjaw from a dental surgery injection injury. I was glad to meet him because he is an extremely skilled surgeon, with the ability to make patients feel safe and well cared for. I quickly found that I could completely trust him. Smart enough to “sew up” every complicated detail, and humble enough that you wouldn’t even know it… until you are on the other side of a successful surgery, with a spectacular result! Like me! Even though he gives presentations nationwide and has written many publications, you’ll never sense that he feels “above” his patients. Because it’s not just his career, it’s his life’s work. So he has developed these unique surgical skills, that create less adverse outcomes… (which is better for the patient, less pain, less complications) He even sutures differently than other surgeons. For example: the bone graft material doesn’t fall out,… as a former dental surgeon told me was normal and excused this result as a product of “working against gravity”, he also left me with pain all down the side of my face. That was before I met Dr Mandelaris. He has done his best to perfect the surgical process, so you’re left with the best outcomes. His energy is contagious, he’s happy and you can tell his employees love working there.

He doesn't cut corners; he’s the real deal and so is the entire office. You experience them treating you so well, because it’s the same way he treats them as his staff! He manages people and situations with the utmost dignity and respect. He’s more than kind and considerate. He really listens to understand, so no concern you have is too small, ignored or brushed off, …because his patients are so important to him. He tailors his approach to your individual needs. For example, the day of the surgery, he pivoted to modify his surgical technique to respect my religious beliefs. In addition, after my surgery, he skillfully communicated with the on-call gastroenterologist to navigate the use of pain medications to avoid intestinal issues. I never felt alone in the process… from the evening of the surgery, when called to see how I was doing… to answering the endless questions I had, after the procedure. He never made me feel like I was a bother, or interrupting him. He was willing to see me after the surgery, before the first scheduled post-op, to make sure everything was ok. Even though he probably knew it was fine, he made sure I knew it was fine by looking at it. Going into an implant surgery with preexisting jaw problems; I was very scared.

Actually, beyond fearful! Prior to the surgery, he made sure he communicated with my jaw specialist to create a unique plan. I had asked the jaw specialist to attend the surgery, but after I met Dr Mandelaris, I soon realized … “he’s got this” And I was not disappointed. 😀 Care was given to even the smallest details…He even gave me a new container for my bite guard. He uses the gentlest, yet most effective post surgical products … from the mouthwash (Stella Life rinse) to the face cream (Arnica). It’s one thing to be an excellent surgeon, but it’s quite another to have the compassion that it takes to treat each patient as an individual and realize they may well need a different approach. This is what Dr. Mandelaris does, because it’s who he is. He takes great care to respond appropriately and professionally, yet in a compassionate way. You get the sense that he knows he’s doing a procedure that may deeply affect the patient’s confidence, so he works with that result in mind. He’s the best! 😌
