My initial visit to Pure Zen was ok. I went to have a tooth extracted and it was fairly painless. The Dr was kind, gentle and welcoming. That’s where the pleasantries ended. Basically, the Dr did work that was far less pressing than the work that was needed imminently. She gave me fillings in whole teeth w/o pain and no treatment to a severely broken tooth at all.

Now granted, I know that I should’ve advocated for myself, but at the same time, I expected the Dr to advocate WITH me and recommend the best and most prudent course of action. No such thing happened. After a few weeks, I was given a referral to an endodontist for a root canal on the broken tooth. Did I mention this happened “after a few weeks”? 5 weeks to be exact. The referral was written on stationary with the endo office’s letterhead, so it was apparent they were very familiar with the endo they referred me to. After calling, scheduling an appointment and filling out paperwork, I received a call 2 days later saying they don’t accept my dental insurance, which is provided through my employer.

Why would they refer me to a dentist that doesn’t accept the same insurance I used to cover the procedures I had at their own office? A dentist that they were CLEARLY familiar with, and made referrals to many times. Overall, I feel the treatment and care that I received was subpar, neglectful and unethical. To not address the most imminent and pressing procedures that I needed only to perform less pressing work is deplorable. I DO NOT recommend this dentist office AT ALL!
